  1. Hi Born Hunter, Just wondering if these boots are an American size 12 as that would make them the same as a UK 11, in which case I would be interested.
  2. All I do is get as big a pot as possible, put about a couple of inches of water in and boil it. Once the water is boiling lay your sticks over the top where you want to do the straightening and cover with a towel for a few minutes untill the sticks are good and hot, then just straighten them over your knee. Be careful that the towel doesn't catch fire though.

Hi SJY, you have a PM.

  5. Hi, I was wondering if you might be interested in swapping/part exchange your air rifle outfit for a set of night vision binoculars worth 500 pounds. The binoculars were an unwanted gift and have been used for a maximum of 1 hour. The binoculars are Bushnell Ranger 2.5x42 (Night Vision) Here is a link to what you would be getting http://www.the-binoculars-store.co.uk/night-vision/bushnell-ranger-2-5x42-night-vision.htm Regards, John
  6. Would like to buy your deer book, you have a PM.
  7. I would think that one of your hobs is going through the motions of trying to mate with the other 2. Not sure how knowledgable you are about ferret behaviour, but when they mate, the male grabs the female by the scruff of the neck and holds her there while mating. I wouldn't worry too much about it as I have seen similair behaviour between hobs and also between Jills too.
  8. Not sure which modle of ferret locator it is as I am working away from home at the moment, I would imagine it will be a mark 1 as it was bought a good few years ago. Home on Friday, so I will update then.
  9. Any one interested in swapping a good stirrup pump. preferably a Hills for a ferret locator bought years ago at a gamefair and never used, collar has never even been on a ferret! Please PM if interested, that way I am informed through e mail.
  10. In a clear field you could certainly pick out a rabbit at over a hundred yards easily enough.
  11. Evening, I was wondering if anyone was interested in swapping a decent air rifle outfit for a set of night vision binoculars worth over 500 pounds. The binoculars were an unwanted gift and have been used for a maximum of 1 hour. The binoculars are Bushnell Ranger 2.5x42 (Night Vision) Here is a link to what you would be getting http://www.the-binoculars-store.co.uk/bush...ision-192-p.asp

    Hares

Thirty odd years ago when I was a youngster, it didn't matter where my dad took me fishing, there were always hares to be seen in the big fields (Aberdeenshire). I can't remember the last time I saw a hare round about here now, other than up beside Braemar.
  14. Hi Stubby, Just re-read through the post about the new court in case I missed something, I am afraid there is no mention at all about the ferrets being hobs, perhaps it was another post you are talking about.
  15. I'm surprised nobody has pointed out to you yet about your ferret's scabby neck. Those scabs aren't due to fighting I'm afraid, they are love bites, you should expect to have ferret kits in the near future! Lovely job of the ferret run by the way.
  16. I would like to buy a pair of good quality binoculars, hopefully Swarovskis, Leicas or something of similar quality. I would prefer 8x42 or 7x42. Any of you lads on here have any that you would consider selling? I would appreciate if you could PM me with anything of interest. John
  17. When I was still in the North Sea (Bay of Bengal now) I worked with a lad that had been in three helicopter ditchings in the North Sea. Lucky Jim they called him, nobody wanted to be on his crew change!!
