You need to get your jill to the vets and ask for the jill jab, she has been in season far to long and will start to get very ill. You hob won't be able to take her out of season if he has been castrated. You have 3 options jill jab every year, spay her or get vasectomised hob.

Erm, because they are mutated in a way that's not natural, or healthy? Yeah they are perfectly healthy, the fact that they lack the ability to nurse their young doesn't make them unhealthy, apart from that the coat and nose pose no problems to them. The mutation came about naturally the breeding for it afterwards did not, in all litters of angoras you get full with the nose and some with just long coats and some that look like regular ferts. Some people want a ladrador some want a labradoodle, personal choice. One thing though you have been polite throughout this debate a lo

Put yer fecking big spoon away Stealthy! I was only interested outcome! Well, the 'for' argument ran out of steam pretty quickly, draw your own conclusions matey! Nope very much for still, i was bathing and putting to bed my little girl. Look back at the previous threads its all been said before on multiple forums, pointless me going over it again and again. I see other views and appreciate them, i will still breed my few angoras and still bash heads whilst doing so. So, what's your argument then, I mean apart from 'they look nice? (..oh, and cost a fecking

The angoras milk dries up at around 2 weeks i always have a surrogate mother in with them, they may be able to rear a litter but i am taking no chances in letting them do it by themselves. Given a chance to evolve they may be able to rear their young. Serious question. Do you not understand 'survival of the fittest?' You are breeding from animals that would die if not for human interference, in fact, exactly the opposite of evolution. Yes i do! I have just visited a safari park in Scotland, lovely place, a lot of the animals i saw were extinct in the wild or near extinc

Coat is completely waterproof its undercoat they lack not top coat, the nose cleft does not impede them in any way. And they go for £200 each thats for full angoras the halfs and 3/4 are considerably less. Why should there be any pics of me working on my site what the flick has that got to do with anything, have you ever met an angora ferret or are you making claims. There is no reason why an angora couldn't work certain sets wouldn't like to argue the toss with a bramble bush and an angora coat but they have the same instinct as a regular ferret. Don't mean to be a prat [or maybe

I am curious as to why you think angoras should be culled, money aside.

Searched through the topic and failed to find any PROOF So Mal you point out where IYO this PROOF is PLEASE? Y.I.S Leeview Blow it out your fecking ass 'Lee', you keep banging on about proof? Well there's plenty of info on the net on the subject, and can you come up with the 'proof, proof, proof' that there aren't any waardenburg ferrets in the UK? What's that, no you can't? Fecking thought not. Like I said before, you breed whatever the feck you like, I'll stick to my own methods, and play it safe, learn from the mistakes of others. Maybe there isn't much in the way of waarde

Sorry i am busy with the listening tree, getting more sense from it.

Omg what is not brutal about a smack, it changes to whole discipline rule if you smack to deter a child or animal then you can't discipline in any other way after that the bar is set. What makes you think i am an anti i have hunted with gun and ferret, killing for food and pest control is in a whole different category then uneccessary violence.
-
Maybe try just shaking the kids, leaves less marks lads. Smacking your kids does not make them brighter in class so i am not sure what your point is. My daughter is 3 she is polite and respectful and that has not been instilled by smacking her.
-
Imo flicking and tapping doesn't deter a biter it makes them a fast lunging biter instead, i hate (no wrong word ) am disgusted when i get a ferret that turns it head away as its used to getting a "flick" or "tap" on its nose, most animals do no need to be cowed to be handled but need patience and time. A kit has soft bones in the nose an unintentional hard flick can cause a lot of damage. And for mr clip the back of kids legs, its now against the law to smack kids. Its brutal and uneccessary respect and boundarys can be taught without violence and the excuse that you got it when you were

Ace idea. Could be the biggest study yet on colour and genetics and provide invaluable information. Best to do it prospectively (on kits born this season onwards) , rather than retrospectively though because things get a bit hazy with time and people are more likely to be able to give accurate information on kits born this season. I always document what colour my litters are and lineage, any info you might need to compile a study would be gladly given. My angoras come with huge pedigrees already.
-
I have 2 questions for you. 1 How do you know the jill is killing them and not that the kits are dying and she is eating them which is perfectly normal. 2 How much have you been in the nest a lot to know exactly how many there was when she gave birth and how many was left at stages, i leave my jills alone until i have to change the nest at 2 weeks-ish depending on thr mother and then they arev ledt alone until they start getting meat at 3 and half weeks.

Dog is only as good as its feet!!
angoraferret replied to moocherboi's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
I worked for a greyhound trainer for 16 years. Its a jumped toe, you are right when you mention the ligaments they have been stretched and allow the toe to dislocate. Taping the toe won't work you need to get it off, problem is the outside toe may go the same way as it will be displaced when running hard. Pack it with ice to take any swelling down if it happens again. There is a vet in marske called james haddow see if you can get to speak to him he might be able to give you good advice, he is an experienced hound vet. -
NEW OUTLET IN THE NORTH EAST
angoraferret replied to john hubery's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
Not sure there will be a class for her, but if you are coming along why not bring her it will do her no harm to mix and mingle with other dogs and people. You can ask when you are there if they can fit her in anywhere. -

Nearly show day, yipee!!!!! Can confirm that everything looks fab, so get your dogs and ferrets spruced up, put on your flat caps and come have a gander. I spied some lovely looking terrier and ferret boxes while we were checking the ferret hall plans out. -
Mine get fresh meat everyday, mostly with bone to keep their teeth good, ferrets need meat in their diet, in summer jst feed it later on when the sun has gone down and take it out in the morning. Feeding a dry food diet only leads to more water intake and fatter ferrets, chickens wings are perfect if you can't spare any rabbit for them, they are 5p each
-
Please wait before introducing them though, she needs to be isolated for a while to make sure she is not carring anything that your hob could catch, we usually give them a week or 2 to be on the safe side, ask your vet for a price for a jill jab or get her spayed, some vets are dearer then others.
