    thats aa bit much sayin that anyone with a bit of sence would keep the dog away from my child! i would protect my son no matter what! and i would never put him in needless danger which exactly why ive considered rehoming her or having her put down if things dont get better over the coming week, you can bitch my lack of dog breeding knowledge but dont question my fatherin!

    Yes it is an accident waiting to happen. But one that anyone with an ounce of dog knowledge would have avoided by allowing the bitch to have the privacy and peace she needed to whelp her first litter. i agree with you in some respects with children not going any were near the bitch whilst she was in this state but its a big risk to have the dog near his son now she could turn at any time and in my book the kids come first to anything and the dog would have been gone by now Obviously the kids come first. The point i'm making is the bitch should have had an area put aside

    mi mum and dad had the same trouble with their bull terriers when i was young, they muzzeled the bitch but it wound her up even more n ended up havin to take the pups away, one of which theyve still got now!

    yeh thats fair enough, i will see how it goes over the next 2 weeks, trouble is she went for mi boy, no matter how hormonal she maybe, its gona take a long time for me to be able to trust her again, if ever! like you say yeh i could give the pups back and id most definatly have to sit here and listen to her killin em and still have a dog that could cause harm to mi son, so i wont be doin that but yeh i will wait n see what happens over next 2 weeks.

    the fact she went for mi boy pissed me off that much i instantly was thinking of takin her straight to vets and havin put down but i didnt just want to have pups from her then get rid! shit decision to make because she part of the family, well she was till she done that....

    yeh i agree my son comes first and i cant have a dog like that actin the way it is round him. shes a jrt x whippet, crossed her with a whippet. the pups both had her milk for the first 12 or so hours.

    my bitch had her pups 2 days ago, the first of the two pups needed help to start breathing so i rubbe it until it was ok, the second came out fine. the bitch wouldnt allow the first to feed for a while then gradually allowed him back to feed. After a few hours i could hear her snarling at the pups, it gradually got worse until she shook one of em for going near her face, i took the pups away and rang the vet, he said try one more time and if she wont accept em just take em away, which ive ad to do. the trouble is now the bitch goes has been going hysterical since ive taken the pups away, iv h

    this is her first litter, i did wonder if she may still have more pups to come but i cant feel any and the last one came out about 2 hours ago or more. i gave her a bollocking when she bit one of em then she started licking it but then snarled again. im just gona wait till the mornin and keep an eye on her, if she doesnt start behavin by then i'll consider hand rearin em if i have to, will a mussle not get her wound up n stop her lettin em feed altogether??

    i put up a post about 2 hours ago just after my bitch gave birth to two pups, she wouldnt let one of her pup feed from her, shes now allowing them both but now she keeps snarling at them and bit one! weve tried not to make too much off a fuss but now im wondering wether or not to take her away from them before she kills em!

    thanks for the advice, i just tried puttin the pup to the teet again and my bitch just nosed her away so it looks like im gona have to get the pup milk, can it wait till the mornin? or should i get miself down the 24hr tescos?? thats if they do the milk!

    my bitch has just given birth to two pups, the first one wasnt breathing so i had to rub it until it started making a noise, the other went straight to its mothers teet but now the mother wont let the other pup feed, any help or advice?????

    i rescued the bitch about a year ago, at first she was going mad to get at the ferrets but once shed been out a few times she quitened down, plus if have one from a pup they woulda been round the ferrets long enough until the dog can be worked anyway. shes pretty quick and has kept up with a few full whippets on harder ground, shes got the added bonus of bein able to get into parts of the bush where the larger dogs cant, shes gone to ground a few times when chasin but i try not to let her because shes pretty much part of the family now lol dont want her gettin stuck or becoming charlies lu
