iv noticed in recent magazines iv brought that there is new pcp which doesnt involve filling it you need to pump it to use it. it also says it is new technology, isnt it just the same as the old pump up airguns?
someone please clear this up for me as im confused

what is the point in having a piston weight in a air rifle, the only thing i can think of isit decreases power because it is adding weight to the piston when it moves, but theremust be something else?

have you done anything from the last time you remember it grouped well. like added a silencer or anything?
-
Back to the accupells they are dirty but I have never washed them. They group under an inch at 25 yards with open sights and 30 with the scope so I'm happy. Will try washing though to see what if any improvment there is.
The HFT guys tend to wash there pellets but im not sure exactly why but it must make some kind of diference. Pellet geeks kind of spring's to mind but im not going down the old geek route this week
washing them gets the lead bits off them that arnt supposed to be there, so all thats left is the pellet that was made in the moulds, so they should all be very close to eachother and it does improve accuracy slightly, its mainly for air rifles benefit why i clean mine, all that excess lead falling off down the barrel doesnt seem good to me. i suppose the better accuracy is a bonus.

i took my smk19 out last week and got 2 bunnys at about the 28m mark each waiting for them to get out of there warren(used fenceposts to count how far) both were beautiful brain shots side on and the bunnys went over straight away. mine has had abit of smoothening out and quieting done by me though lol
good groups.

Thanks Ian,
I've put a little felt between the action and the stock, but thats about it.
Didn't think I would do any smoothing as this is the rifle that got me back into rifle shooting.
Now though after shooting my baby for so long and then taking this girl out today, I certainly intend to stick a GRT in her. I used to get on well with the original trigger, but today I found it pretty hard going.
I did mention to Si that if I got a bunny with her today it'd be a bonus, I did draw blood but it was on my trigger finger where one of the cracks split from having to apply the pressure to the trigger
What have you done to yours Ian?
Phantom
stripped it all down and got all the factory grease out, it seems the lube they used had these little bits of grit in them and that is what makes the gun go twaaaannnnnggggggggg. iv cleaned the piston, spring, spring guard and spring weight of any little pieces it might have sticking out.also cleaned out the actual cylinder thing where it all goes, checked all seals were ok and re lubed lightly. if you send me a pm i will send you a link to a stripdown on it with pictures, there little preload on the spring. now the gun goes with more of a thud, is quieter and seems more accurate than before, also the little screw behind the trigger it came with adjusts it slightly but the trigger on mine is easy to use because one of the springs inside the trigger unit is bent, works fine though and is easyier to pull.
need any more info just ask

Come gather round people and lend me your ear,
As I tell you a story you dont want hear.
About a nation once great thats now lost her way,
And her countrymen live in a state of dismay.
The powers that be, they couldnt care less,
But its those who are in power who created this mess.
They never stood up to admit their mistake,
And offered a solution for the peoples sake.
Instead they ignored it and hoped it would pass,
But now its come back to bite them in the ass.
Now the grandkids of heroes are treated like scum,
Told they are out of a job when the immigrants come.
But the people of England are opening their eyes,
And soon an army of people will start to arise.
And when that day comes our leaders must choose,
Stand with us and win, or oppose us and lose

this is a bit random but im bored so what is your favourite breed of chicken and why
fried and because they taste better like that
-
the problem is you have to find the right ones for your air rifle, lighter pellets go quicker but are less accurate because wind ect takes effect to easily, however heavier pellets are less effected by wind and therefore would be more accurate over distance but drop quicker. you have to find the weight which is in the middle somewhere
