Out last night with my mate to try a couple of spots as wont get out now until probably Boxing day.
First farm spotted a dog fox following a vixen but just couldn't get on to them but on walking back to the motor spotted another laid up in a grass field out of the wind. Put a sneak on it using a big mound in the field as cover , ended up 10 yards off this fox staring at me for a good 10 seconds before it took off down the field then proceeded to sit down , it was quickly bowled over by my mate , a nice dog fox.
Off to 2nd place and after calling for 30 minutes I switched to hare call and immediately had a fox come right up to the caller then backed off and sat down. A vixen was grassed this time
Merry Christmas to all you fox shooters out there

Standard backyard in an asylum seeker house. Signs up in 6 languages in the kitchen asking them to place rubbish in giant commercial bin outside back gate.
The town has hundreds of houses like this in this state.

Out again on Monday and it never rained , what a lovely change.
We headed for a strip wood where I knew there was a few. On crossing the field to get into position 2 roe appeared and made their way out into the field so we crouched down.
Now our approach was scuppered as no cover and just a large open field . The deer was 300 yds away so I told my mate to take it as he shot one last week at 280 yds so very similar shot.
Thwack .... deer ran 30 yds and collapsed great shot.
Now we got into position looking on the edge of a strip. Only waited 5 minutes and out popped a doe , down she went.
Decided to wait as I suspected more would show , which they did.
A doe and 2 followers appeared at the far corner , the doe and a follower were taken.
So another great afternoon with 4 in the bag

Good work , the one I called in last night absolutely screamed in from distance and laid down in front of the caller wondering where the vixen was

That 1st fox came in like a rocket expecting some romance , even laid down in front of the caller in anticipation
That thermal hunt at the end of the night was great ending in a successful outcome let's hope it continues

Yep no shooting on the estate now, a really posh housing estate has been built on part of it.
