  1. The whole shell is wood so its not going to be classed as a permenant building by the looks of it . Also would noise be a problem i.e can she complan about it, I just want to cover myself so I can then just tell her to fook off and know she cant do anything about it.

  3. Started to put down a concrete base for the bird housing and weighing room today and I was being watched by my next door but one neighbor. As I went out to my van to get some tools she came running over and asked what it was for so I told her. Her reply was that I am not getting a bird and she is going to talk to the RSPCA and the local Parish council. She also spouted on about its cruel to teach a bop to hunt , with that I asked her " did you teach your Cat to hunt Mice and Birds then" of course the answer was "NO" so my reply was " well you must have done as it wouldn't do it naturally th

    glove cleaning

Hi all just been given a glove, but its been sat in the damp for a while and as you guess its mouldy and stiff. Whats the best way to clean it and then protect it? Many thanks, Hilly.
  9. Got a few bops around my area so looks like the one i thought was going to be the worse turns out to be not to much trouble. lol
  10. Ok so I dont have to worry to much about the Buzzards then.
  11. When I get my Harris later this year would a pair of Buzzard's that come over now and again be a problem when I'm out with the bird. And this may be a silly one but power lines, how bad are they for the Harris as you see birds on them all day long so why cant the Harris land on them?
  12. Could not believe the donkey, what was he thinking are some people really that stupid??????????
  13. Ok here goes you only have to read up to page two to get the idea. http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=184051
  14. Can I post a link up to a site on here it is a car forum and not a for sale topic or anything but it has a topic that would make alot of you cry with laughter. If you read the posts from the beginning you will be amazed how think some people are about the wildlife around them.
  15. I have done some measurements down the bottom of my yard I have got a base to build the housing on that is about 19feet x 11feet. I was hoping to build an aviary and if poss a small weighing room on it, would this size be ok, or does anybody know where I could get some plans to look at and get some ideas from. The bird will be a male or female Harris. Any help or photos of any you have done will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Hilly.
  16. I'm reading the books as a head start as I'm looking into going to Scotland this year and spend at least a week out with a bird and also going on a few days out with a Harris's also. But also reading lots off this site has helped some people seem to know there stuff. I have made sure that I have got some things in place before I go any further as I have over 3000 acres to play on that has never been on before, lots of room to house a Harris and the time to fly and train.
  17. Just finished reading Hawking and Falconry by Adrian Hallgarth and any beginners out there (like me ) could do worse than to read this book. Very easy to follow and the pics are also clear and help the text. I,m now waiting on falconry principles & practice by roger upton and Falconry (UK Edition) by Emma Ford hope these are just as good.
  18. Sorry to hear your bad news. I had to do this to my Russell last year she had cancer. It felt wrong at the time (like I was letting her down in some way) but now when I think back all I have are the good times we spent out and about. I think the thing that hit home was my dads comment when I said she was in pain but still trying to get up and be with me and his comment was " Boy that dog was so loyal to you she would still try to follow you with no legs" thought that kind of summed her up. All the best. Hilly.
