  2. I think D C.LLB is right. We should never give in to these Give some little prick a bit of power and it go.s to there head.Seen it happen first hand.Maybe you would change your mind if it happened to you. Had it happen to me, however you've got to remember Derek was convicted of a wild life crime involving BOP, and surprisingly Mr Shorrock was involved....Sour Grapes? And I would agree giving a little prick to much power is dangerous...however I would never give Derek any power At the end of the day, Derek keeps shouting about this rubbish but surprisingly nothing ever seems to en
  3. What size r u after, got most sizes here. Also what kind of closing tool do you use? Let me know will happily help out. Alex
  4. I have 2 sandy hobs going free to good home, sadly a bit to big for me (normal sized hobs) but might just be what someone else is looking for. I am down in Dover in Kent. Both 2010 hobs, both have worked well. But need to reduce ferret numbers. ATB Alex
  5. Fret marks are more commonly caused by stress not banging the feathers about, so what good would one do stopping stress..none. Man the bird properly keep it stress free and you will barely have fret marks if at all. I use tail sheaths on imprints as they have a great habit of backing of on their tail early on when on a kill. Or at the start when I am boxing birds for transport. But a tail sheath will never be a good excuse for poor management or manning of the bird. ATB Alex
  6. Of course they will, you only have the guard on for travelling or on a kill to prevent damage. Alex
  7. Anyone know of a good cheap supplier of them, had a look on flea bay thought I'd try here as well. Need em for my ferret collars. Alex
  8. the Jill should come into season around Mar/April time so you should be fine now. just watch for her swelling up around her arse end, once shes been covered by the hob a few times remove him if you want live kits as he will eat them and she will end up back in season. if you don't want kits you could have the hob castrated and you will have no problems at all. ATB Alex
  9. in all honesty, its not all the bird that dictates what should be your first one. the following How much time can you put in How much land have you got what quarry have you got available have you got a mentor, if not you need one Once you have looked at all of these then you can pin point what bird could or would suit harrises make a good starters bird and a very bad one, due to being very easy to man, train and enter. they wont give you as many problems as other birds will but will defo be much simpler to handle than others. if you have a mentor who flies gosses (for exam

  15. Out again last night further up the same fields, was a lot harder tonight with strong winds and a bit of light rain, but we still managed a decent bag, think we knocked over 17 this time. Had a cheeky young fox walk right out to one of the bunnies and pick it up..cant even get my sodding GSPs to do that. ATB Alex
  16. TY Ron, Going to try and get a video camera out with us at some point, see if we can get some nice wee videos. ATB Alex
  17. TY Phantom, managing to get some nice spots locally to banish some bunnies, good timing too got another 12 ferret kits growing up so plenty for them to eat. The local farmers around here are begging for bunny clearance, th trouble is loads of them have been pestered by guys who shoot once and never go back, me I'll be back up there tonight. Got another plot nearby which has had nearly 120 bunnies taken of it by us with the rifles, went up on the way past last night and its over run again. Busy...busy...busy. Good times ahead. Alex
  18. Went out last night for an hour and a half on a new bit of land, with my brother in law and the rifles. Had a cracking night bringing a total of 22 bunnies and 1 woodie to the bag. The majority were from one hedgerow, the woodie decided to come down and see what the commotion was when I shot a bunny which break danced when shot, so Mark shot it. Very enjoyable till the pick up and carry back to the car, which was only about 200m. ATB Alex
  19. Sorry, Been out of the country till now, the rifle is still available. Dont think a p/x is what hes after. The rifle is not currently set over FAC but as far as I am aware can be adjusted but dont quote me on that. If you contact Mick (Snowey) on his number he can let you know more and how much he'll take. Hope this helps and sorry for taking a bit of time to respond. Alex
