  3. ive heard good things of these teckles very good things i do like a dog that yaps when hunting im starting to hunt some busy areas now lot of rabbits give them a chance to get back into it properly ive kept them fit and strong i had a 3/4 wippet 1/4 bedlington i sold to foxy jo of this site i wish i kept her but at the time i needed the room i got my saluki x but am looking for a nother small lurcher wippet x i think a wippet x grey sounds good so whos got what for bushing and how are you getting on with it i had six rabbits in the week in 1 aftrnoon and yesterday just 2 but t
  4. thats sound advice bb my saluki is comeing on to work with the terriers does anyone else use saluki crosses for bushing i only used them for courseing really some with a bit of saluki but never a 3/4 saluki 1/4 greyhound should be fine
  5. mine is 1/4 cocker spaniel a good breed is cocker / patterdale i think patterdales are brilliant allrounders excellent bush dogs do the terriers have much or mostly flush to lurchers also do you find the 26inch lurcher to big for bushing or ok
  6. i would of thought a wippet x would be best for bushing small and fast i got 2 good bushing terriers at moment and a pup 3/4 saluki 1/4 grey not the ideal companion for bushing but i need him for other things so i hope he'll be a bit of an allrounder i was just seeing what you use for bushing lurcer wise and what you would say would be the best type

  8. i think it does come natural but helps to see another 1 work nothing better to see a good terrier hunt mine have a bit of spaniel in them and use there nose well what do you think is the best lurcher to work with them i would say a wippet x at the moment i got a 3/4 saluki 1/4 grey not ideal but need it for other stuff also wanted bit of alrounder but got a good team comeing together slowly
  9. seeing who do bushing with terriers and how many terriers i got 2 terriers mother and daughter very good dogs and what result you usaully get with terriers last season for me wasnt brilliant but this year will be also bringing on a saluki to acompany them do you use lurchers with them

  11. i got a young saluki only a year hes chased a couple of rabbits he dont seem to have a lot of preydrive ive had a lot of saluki's and never had a problem do you think its age hes good lines ect i aint giveing up on him i think he'll make good do you have any suggestions i lnow it would help to work with other dogs he works with my terriers he uses his nose alot wich i like but as for lurchers not really keep myself to myself becouse of dog thieves ect i want him for lamping not done much lamping mostly hare bashing how do saluki's lamp if trained ok

  14. seems steep for a 2 year old thats been chained up in a stable mate im looking for a working lurcher but at that price i would expected a fully working dog good luck and good on you for helping the dog but the dog needs to go for free to help it no working lad would have it un worked at that age

  19. i bring my salukis on by useing them for bushing rabbits and on short distances a rabbit can as fast as a hare running from cover to cover clearly it takes time for a saluki to build the speed and are made for bigger fields but they can run small feilds and if they aint no good over there dont take them over people have said these dont lamp well ive never been let down by them but if there fields are so small and hare as hard to take as brown hares what dog could take them without following them into the woodland i do think its the land thats important but a good clever dog shoul
  20. depending what you hunt i would say a strait bedlington will make to much beddy in it what about a nother whippet/bedlington i think you would be safe there
  21. a while ago i put up one of my bushing terriers bedlington/springer now she really is good never had a problem someone of this site came along way to see her no names named really good bloke me problem is she never hunted i mean she had a few bits but nothing to say shes a working dog but normally shes mad for it really good dog her nipples are up she do look swollen but she shouldnt be on season yet becouse i know what she can do i am gutted it is just my luck it really is any help would be good cheers dan
