  1. I'm not really worried about proving that I need the weapon that I can do, its just I was un sure of what to put on the form. Thanks for the responses Harry
  2. Hi Gents I understand that to buy/own a semi-auto shotgun with more than a 2 or 3 shot capacity you need to put it on your FAC. I do have a SGC and FAC so its just a case of putting a variation in. Just wondering what you would need to put on the form? Do you need to put how many cartridges you want to hold and capacity of shotgun etc etc ? Thanks in advance Harry
  3. Gents Do any of you put loctite on your bases and rings ?? I have experienced the screws on my rings slackening off a fraction, now before anyone says it they were on tight to start with. I would say I have approx rounds through it Thanks Harry
  4. You can get 50 of them off stalkers uk for around £12
  5. I have three Sako's so yes I have dealt with GMK Just spoke to one of there reps this morning no chance of getting the 1:8 for a minimum of 9 months but can get a 1:12 end of next month. Some things are just worth the wait. Cheers Harry
  6. Many thanks for all the replies it's appreciated. I will have a call about to see if I can get one worst case is I will have to order one but that's no big deal. Cheers Harry
  7. Thanks for all the replies guys I'll stick with the 1:12 then Cheers Harry
  8. Cheers Bob I still have the problem of which twist rate you get the option of the 8 or 12. The rife would be ordered with the muzzle already threaded so barrel lenght would be 1020 mm Cheers Harry
  9. Hello Gents Thinking about getting a Tikka Lite SS in 223, just wondering which twist rate would better there is an option of two. Cheers Harry
  10. Hi Caz My thoughts would be to buy a couple of Mora Clippers in SS and save alot of money. For the price you will never get a better knife, I bought 10 and I got them for 7 quid each. I have to admit lost 1 gave a couple away but at that price you cant grumble.
  11. Thanks for the replies gents.... I think I'll invest in a pair Cheers
  12. Too be honest I dont think many get seen around that area.
  13. Plenty of Roe in Northumberland and Cumbria....... Reds in Cumbria and Sika, Roe and Reds in SW Scotland. Your in quite a good position in Brampton.... not sure how easy it will be to get land
  14. Hi Guys Im thinking about buying a pair of SLC 8x56 binoculars just wondering if there as good as they say... Does anyone have a pair ??? Cheers
  15. Guys thanks for the replies.... Just a bit suprised because I have never ever had a problem with my other Sako rifles those are just blued barrels. Cheers Harry
  16. Its a Sako 85 straight from the factory so nothing custom on it.
  17. Hi Guys Just wondering if anyone of you have had experience or seen a stainless steel barrel and action start to go rusty ? I took delivery of a new rifle in SS 3 weeks and its only been out the cabinet once and to my amazement today I noticed that its started to go rusty in a few places. When the rifle was last out it had been cleaned / wiped down etc and the cabinet has got 4 descicant bags in so I cant see that attracting moisture. I work offshore and for years now we have being seen a vast difference in the quality of marine grade stainless(316), when we have approached man
  18. I dont know why some people need to have a dig, each to there own I say. I can understand if its an un safe act but thats OTT. Anyway nice picture, thinking about the same rifle in 6.5 x 55
  19. Thanks for the info Stu, its appreciated.
  20. Hello Gents, When I get back home I am going to put in for a variation. Now I understand to do this you must surrender your FAC and submit this with your application. The question is can I continue shooting with my .22 whilst my license is away. Would it be okay to carry a copy of your FAC or would it be a case of no shooting until your FAC is returned. Thanks in advance Harry
  21. Thanks for all the replies its good too get other peoples views. I think I am going to go for a CF Cheers Harry
  22. Cheers for that.. Burris make a scope for the Sako Quad so in theory you can have 4 different zero's for all the calibres. To save the problem it might be worth just buying a new gun.
  23. Hi Guys Just wanting a bit of advise here. On one piece of land I have permission on there seems to be a few foxes about. I am wondering if the hmr would be capable of doing the job effectively? The reason I am not thinking about a centre fire just yet is I have a Sako Quad and it might be the cheaper option just to buy a spare barrel for it. But any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance
  24. If you have good grounds for the calibre you have applied for then no problems. I found myself in the same position asking these questions, and too be honest its more like a chat but as it has said before honesty is the key...
