  1. I tried it a few years ago as my dad used to sell it as he had an animal feed business , my dogs went out of control and after a nights lamping they were like a toastrack !!! Its ok for a greyhound that needs explosive speed for a short time but you need more substance in a lurcher , ive fed raw for 4 years now and wouldnt go back to complete feeds .

  2. I have little time vets thesedays , they are only interested in getting as much out of you as possible , My 14year old son ,who has been around lurchers all his life , even judged lurcher shows , recently took his new pup to be jabbed where he was told he was too young to bring the dog on his own , that he shouldnt have wormed the pup and he must not feed the dog on meat or bones !! , and that we should buy some food off him !! Ive been feeding raw for years and my dogs look well on it , animal lovers they are not anymore !

  3. The Boston area held good hares until operation leveret kicked in and even the lads with permission had to stop going. I know Dancer was ran a lot down there before she won the Forley. I've been as far south as Wisbech coursing, but as I've said before, if the South Kyme hares were so easy and the competition won by duffers, why did none of it's critics ever enter and win it themselves. It's easy to try to belittle the men and their dogs who did have success now, but before the ban the simple way to prove a point was to compete and win. I seem to remember less crabbing when that was the case.

mostly plough at boston and killing hares on plough don`t count.... none of the critics entered the forley cup because real coursing men won`t have anything to do with anyone who thinks it`s ok to run two dogs on one hare.

that`s just one reason, there`s loads more, and what`s the point of running bad hares all the time ? the two dogs you like to talk about the most on here seem to be seagull and foxy, well, they weren`t bred from forley f*****g legends were they ? no pal, they were bred from single handed coursing dogs that were ran on the best hares that could be found. run hares were you like, i`m not bothered.. i just don`t agree with comments about good dogs, they are few and always have been.

Are we saying that dogs such as Dancer , Blondie ,couldnt kill a hare single handed ? !!!! Are we also saying CN would have nothing to do with AS ?? !!!
  4. Class was out of Dancer mated to saluki dog called Ash, which I think was a brother to T.G.'s saluki bitch that made the Forley finals three years on the trot.

Incidentally that photo of Class was also miscaptioned in the book as Blondie, and as I know I wouldn't have made that error I rest my case against the type setter

Can't blame J.D. as it was me "what wrote" that article Arcticgun.

Was Ash the father of Khan , sure i read he was ?

  5. Last year I watched a smackhead break into a house in my street , he then came out and hid in a garden , I phoned the old bill , I then found him hiding on someones lawn , they nicked him took my statement and next day came back to tell me the most they could charge him with was being drunk on someones lawn !!! I then refused to go to court over a pathetic charge like that and for a month recieved calls off them threatning me with a charge that carried a bigger punishment than the smackhead was up for , in the end they dropped his charge !!!! It goes without saying , they can stick their helicopter and their rural crime clampdown as they have lost my respect forever !!!!

  6. My lad boxes , you can fight uncarded on an exhibition show like clubs put on to raise funds but for proper contests you need carding , his club gets a doc down preseason and he does a few in one visit .

  7. Over the years ive had several bullxs , and they have all cost me emotionally and financially , it was a regular event for me to call my old man to come out in the early hours and pay the vet , two , i brought home , killed doing their job , ive tried to hunt without one , but nothing matches their prey drive , thats why ive a bull pup here again , when youve had a good one that you know will tackle anything , its an addiction !

  8. Gypsies often turn up with their kids at the boxing gym my son uses and always want to put their kids in to fight right away , our coach will after trying to put them off , then put them straight in with a decent lad and they get a good hiding , once one of the dads after this had happened offered to fight the coach , which they did , the gypsy ended up on his arse !! Its a myth that all gypsies can box .

  9. Those of us at the last one will remember the tension between us and the antis that day , it was superb watching the young scallys bricking them as they walked up the roads , i remember how one "brave " soap dodger - with a fence seperating us - called me a beast , paedo etc , as they were moved out because they were getting showered by bricks , bottles etc i followed him along the fenceline , until after so far we ran out of fence and now we were only a few feet apart , as he realised this the look of terror on his face was one i will never forget , suddenly i was no longer a beast or paedo , can i just thank whoever threw that brick that dropped him , i did try to avoid him as he fell but he kept trying to kiss my boots as he went , worth the admission fee alone it was !!!!

  10. I used to do the 3 days , the call over on the Monday night , over the road to the disco under the Scarisbrick , great to see Sir Mark Presscott pissed on the dance floor always had women hanging off him , remember had £200 on Heneritta at 9/4 when she won it , she killed her hare in every round , i phoned my brother with the commentry of the final ( im going cold as i picture it now !)it went " shes led up , shes turned it , shes killed it " Steven Little , start counting !!! . I took my 9yr old son to the last day , the slipper and judge signed his card , it sits proudly on his wall , i sometimes pass the Withins when travelling and i park up for ten minutes and imagine what it was like , must admit i sometimes shed a tear , Mr Blair , you had no idea did you ?

  14. Anyone who could possibly think sleeping alone every night, not earning money, not being close to a woman, having no real friends around you, rotting away and being forgotten about is something to brag about has clearly not spent enough time away to understand just what a shitty waste of time it is...and any prick who says " i dont care i could do the time standing on my head " like some of the complete divs you hear about needs to realise it dont impress proper people, prison is an embarrassment that nobody should want to brag about.

We all make mistakes, some of us are lucky enough to get good guidance and learn from it....others will be too big and tough to admit they are wrong....I was fortunate enough to meet a very good man in Wandsworth prison back around 95 who gave me great advice and encouragement which thankfully i had the sense to act on,his name was Gary Taylor who was a former world strongest man competitor......and the toughest most menacing screw you could ever wish to meet....a very strong man but a fair man with great principals.

Years later i invited him to my gym around 01/02,he was as pleased as i was to see the advances i had made in life and body...a very sincere man who i will always be grateful to......

These toughies who think all screws are this and that, who think its hard and clever to be in and out of jail....grow up !....im no mother theresa but i hate hearing about younguns going away thinking its clever....its the lowest of the low which if your unfortunate enough to end up in your just a simple fool if you dont learn from it.

Thats my good deed for the day :D

Spot on Gnash ,im not proud of some of my past , but i thank prison for two massive things in my life , in 88 in jail i used to watch lads out lamping the land near the jail , i came out and got my first lurcher , then in 97 inside i got back into playing rugby , passed my coaching badges , later , got my son into it , he now represents his county and ironically his coach is one of the prison gym screws who i got on well with .There are criminals in all walks of life , some have learnt some never will , but you can take some positives out of a bad time .

Would that be a guy called Sawbridge by any chance ??

    No mate , not Sawbridge
