  3. my patterdale (pet) gets a few grapes every now and then, he loves nuts, a very tiny bit of raw fat, and a few other things on there. also we gave him a small bowl of warm tea the other day and he loved that. didnt seem to have any affect on him or anything.

Spot on! We all hate the ban, and it efects us all directly or indirecly; as do the other recent laws brought in which seem to us to opress the way of life we have. Be that the new proposed dogs act, duty on fuel, post office closures (likewise village schools), changes in public transports, game laws etc etc. It all feels like its set againsat us; but the attitude of f##k it, does not wash because those who see us as outdated, cruel, stupid (whatever) are able to take our words and use them against us. Its wrong, its sad, but we have to wind our necks in and play the game. Country

  6. If your going to be a responsible gun owner then you should be bothered to change the locks. I'm not having a go, but can you imagine saying that to the FEO. .... Or worse your guns stolen on the key!!!! i understand what your aying but what i meant was that i can be bothered to change locks that cost £20 each for a chubb lock when i can buy a cabinet and bolts from the gunshop for£113.
  7. well im in buckinghamshire which is thames valley police and i know a few people that have said that the inspector tries as hard as he can to rip it off and open it with a metal rod and if he cant get it open its fine. im just gunna go with the shop bought. (i am on good terms with the owner of the gunshop as i go in every 3 weeks for gas for my airmagnum lol)
  8. yer but the only thing im slightly worried about is if i get one off ebay or this guy makes me one is tht somebody is bound to have a spare key for it and know where i live. also i cant be bothered to change locks.
  9. one in the local gunshop is a 3-4 gun and is £113 but im not so sure because i wont be able 2 afford the license or guns 4 a while
  10. does anyone know whether homemade cabinet would be ok. my next door neighbor knows somebody that's an engineer and he might be able to make me one but i dont want to spend £ on something i cant use as a shotgun cabinet.
  11. do you use the traditional wooden larsen or the metal cage design? i always find the wooden ones work best. maybe they feel safer because its wood but who knows.
  12. nice job. how you get the magpies? we found one in a fox snare that was looped over the top of a fencepost while beating.
  13. i agree. well said. a lot of hunting forums two of which i am members of(only for the for sale sections) are full of people that seem to spend all of there time on the pc and not actually out in the field (i do both). and there are too many jealous tw*ts on this site that have to argue with anything they dont know anything about. my bit said. borntoshoot
  14. do you eat the squirrels if there not too mangled?
  15. yes you can hunt with a blackpowder shotgun. sometimes the guns use one or two where i go beating.
  16. ok i dont know how far he is willing to travel but may seem obvious but try the yellow pages.
  17. where abouts are you mate. anywhere near stokenchurch/high wycombe a mate of mine on the shoot i beat at is a pro pestcontroller i might be able to sort summing out
  18. well im new to snaring but it depends whereabouts on the beats you set them (between them or on/over them) also from what ive heard or rather read from this forum you want it to be about 6 inches from the ground and over the middle of a small beat. hope this helps and best of luck in the future
  19. i dont know maybe it had something to do with it raining for 2 days before the snow. then the snow stayed for about 2 days then i went out so you are probably right in saying that they got hungry.
  20. i went out there with the lamp the other night at about 11 and there was "nout about" lol anyway last year we had a few inches of snow, it stayed for about 2 days and that was the biggest bag ive ever had with the air rifle and snares that week. That really did surprise me to be honest.
  21. ok will try that when we stop having heavy frosts. at first i thaught someone had nicked my rabbit but then i realized lol
