Bunch of scum, it may be worth putting something up on the keeper/ shooting side of things on this forum, some dogs do get left behind after being run. Let hancock know, he may get a call about the dog if it gets picked up as the dogs are traced to him. Realy do hope you get it back.

Im searching for a dog this chap bought a few years ago, any of you lads know him, he may of moved from the area now. the collie greyhound was black and white and feathered coat and would be about 5-6 years old . some one must know the bloke or dog im speaking of. Any help would be good. Cheers

Thats wat i mean about the coulouring if he was black and tan or a red coulour he would be recognized at first glance as a saluki.atb dell The bitch i know of carrys no saluki blood at all and looks just like a collie with feathering etc and can shift,Ive sourced the name of the bloke who had the the brother to her that was a spitting image of her , any one know a V Dempsey from portland dorset? Dog would be about 5-6 years old now.

Very nice dog mate, what cross is he? looks very collie like and thats the way im hopeing to go with my muts.

Id be interested in seeing some pics . seems there are not many collie xs about anymore and even less with a coat . seems like i have a interesting task ahead!!

Coat makes no difference at all in terms of catching rabbits but as i said would be nice to have dogs that dont look like lurchers , if you see some one walking there collie the police dont blink an eyelid. If you have a lurcher you are up to no good and create unwanted attention either tho i dont poach. ive been pulled up by police 21 times since harvest last year, not all was with dogs but most. Also we get problems with lurcher theft round hear so i want adog that dosnt look "the part". Its looking like ile have to go back to a reverse cross or collie as i dont know any one who keeps such fe

I know for a fact that it can be done as the bitch i know of was a mateing of two half crosses, there was a dog in the litter that went to portland but never found out what happened to him. The bitch in north wales often gets mistaken for a saluki cross. One of the best dogs ive seen on the lamp to. The reverse cross throws the feathering sometimes depending on the collies used. I would be keen to put this back in my lines with out adding another breed.Just want that collie feathering to hide what they are, i dont poach or anything like that but have been pulled up by cops way to many times thi

Im not sure id go back there for a dog, and to be honest ive not seen any such dogs there any way , that didnt have beardie in anyway.Im kinda looking for something like Flynn in page 45 of lurchers and longdogs by walsh or something like that wooly bear thats poped up in some of plummers books. I like the collie xgreyhound cross but would like to hide what they are a bit.

Hi, i was wondering is there any one out there who keeps border collie x greyhound crosses that hold that collie feathering. Ive only ever seen one which was a half cross back to half cross mateing. Ive seen a few pics in books over the years but thats it realy. Be interested if any one on hear has any pics if so, they always seem to throw the smooth coat not that rabbits mind to much i guess!

a jab aint always a quick death, ive seen 2 dogs put down that didnt die quick . one of which needed a second jab. maybe a bad vet but i wouldnt risk my dogs suffering like that .

Sorry to hear the bad news mate, It may be worth letting the gamekeeper side of things know. Alot of dogs are being left behind on farms and estates down hear in the south. Its just another route to try and find your dogs. Dog wardens are picking a few up around my area however none of the saluki crosses are chipped/ tattooed. These scum travel all over the country, so they may turn up down hear. Be good to see some pics and if any one mentions theyve found one, we got a pic to compare.Best of luck bud, realy do hope you get your dogs back. Lads its worth chipping your dogs aswell as having so

It depends on your ground, ive worked the various crosses of collie x. but i have to say although im very happy with my half cross bitch i do think that bit of whippet blood gives them an edge on the collie greyhound crosses. I only hunt rabbit but they do foxes if one pops up. It also depends on what the collie is. Some are very heavy however ive seen collie johns work and they are very racey types of lurcher for the cross. I like the collie greyhound half cross back to a coursing whippet. For rabbits they are like heat seeking missiles alhogh a bit small for much else. Its difficult to say w

Like it or not lads, if you were a keeper or farmer who is constantly being pestered by the pricks who drive threw gates, hedges etc etc- you would be wanting to resolve it! Its not the dogs fault its the owners who have no respect for the rest of us who work in the countryside. Poaching with dogs has never been so popular which is a shame for the rest of us who run our dogs on permission. Most land owners turn a blind eye to the odd hare or deer being run however they dont tolerate twits in scoobys ripping the feilds to bits. this is why many keepers get frustrated by the sight of lurchers ne

What i find very strange is that when the police have caught lads poaching in unregistered cars etc that they dont check the dogs. Many of these dogs must be stolen and its a shame cops dont check for microchips. surely this could help break some dog stealing rings!

Cheers lads they have been retrieved!

He's a good lad, dosnt deserve this, think someone has them. nothing is safe!

The lad is out now still looking. if you can help please do.pm me with any info . cheers lads.

I had a one that was doing realy well until she got knocked down by a car. I think that dash of whippet blood in a collie greyhound is hard to beet as a rabbiting dog, only my veiw mind. Gona have a litter again this year to replace her. Fingers crossed all goes well!

funny man rob, ile see you soon mate.
