as far as i know and learnt at college, if the landowner has registerd the path as a conservtion area, the landowner can actually hold you to keeping the dog on the lead but this is not gospel im struggling to remember, How do i find out if it is registerd ? Cheers

I understand what your saying, my dogs are always under control, they are working dogs, and i also know the keeper. I know the general public don't understand. Don't like the comment about find another walk mate, been going down there 30 year, if you know what i mean ? All the best Pete.

Just been to one of my walks wich as been there for donkeys years. It is a public footpath that go's through land that is keepered. Anyway today when i get there ther's been a notice put up saying "protected conservation area keep to footpath dogs to be kept on leads". I was just wondering how the notice stands by law ? i think its just a tattic been used by the keeper to protect is birds. Can you tell me what you think, cheers.

People are arguing and being called abusive, but aint you all missing the point here, michael.hudson7 who started this thread put a picture up of what is supposed to be a bedlington right ? Now when I said surely thats not a beddy he says it is a pure beddy BUT its had whippet in the line some time back!! So he's not lamping with with a beddy but a beddy whippet, yeah ? Now say i'm wrong about the dog in the picture, no way is that a pure beddy, if it is mines a bloody sheep !! Cheers to you all

It cant catch rabbits with any regularity, it's WAY to big at 18 1/2" for fox work... the only credit you can give the dogs is that they are not very good at anything in particular... or are they ??? if i was you swansea jack i would get your legendary thread going again and let this slur on the working bedlington disappear into obscurity. bedligton terriers are for killing foxes in undiggable earths and rock piles a unique a admirable set of credentials. how these people who set to tarnish the reputation even get hold of pups in the first place. get you 2005 thread back in action
