    stevie a grouse keeper mate of mine shot it at skipton. apparently every keeper in the district came to have a look i skinned it out and gave the entire skeleton to a mate who cleans, assemble and articulates skeletons. he said it had less vertebrea in it's neck and spine than it should of. it's tail also looked like it had been docked and he said it was lucky to of reached adulthood, it was taken in wintertime with snow on the ground ,so was no cub. when i skinned it out it had a good fat layer on it and seemed in pretty good condition, so it must of been gettin by fine till it b

    salt will cure ,but not bug proof the skin. instead of using salt use borax ,get it at the chemist couple a quid a box, this will cure and bug proof. much better than salt
