  1. yep, this Rey is right, for "tough to catch" the pronghorn blows deer out of the water. they hit speeds deer never heard of and can outlast most saluki crosses. The only ones i ever caught were in my youth in fairly deep snow or when they make a mistake at a fence. i could be wrong but i never ever remember one "jumping" a fence, they take them under like a dog. Just my opinion. bob
  2. LOL... :11: ..I heard your dogs get laid up from killing big chickens (or was it some other bird?? ) badger...i think them jack rabbits in eastern new mexico take some killing!... Kye,.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> they take some "catching" i'll agree
  3. pronghorn , guaranteed the best way to kill your dog short of a bullet
  4. if she is not ruined she can be a lot of fun while you are looking for that "perfect" pup we all want. I think you are looking at it the right way, you can be in the field with her in a week if she bonds, while you continue her training. If you had gotten a pup right now, it might only be working for you at the end of the season if you are lucky, and you would still have to put a lot of time training it the way you want. of course i like to raise my own the way I want it, but some of the best work i have ever had was out of grown gyps that the previous owners' circumstances put them in my

  6. kye....there is a solution for every problem....
  7. i have a three year old white male bred by this man that is an outstanding jack (hare) dog. He is a saluki x staghound x coldblood blend and can catch a january jack on rough running ground. i am pleased to own him, bob
  8. $38.67 ANNNNNNND i'll throw in a used head lamp. take it, it's a fair deal
  9. borderfox, you might have read the man wrong, he seems a good guy that likes to course. I have a dog he bred, a salukixstagxcoldblood that I bought out of the field in New Mexico. This dog doesn't need three friends to catch a "hare." And our Jack rabbits have been selected by coyotes(small wolves that eat foxes) for their selection of the fittest, your hare have been selected by fox for the last 500 years or so if I'm not mistaken. Which do you think would be harder to catch? cheers, bob
  10. all joking aside guys, kye's brindle pup is an dandy. At 7 1/2 months old that pup ran like a grown dog- speed, distance and keen determination, he really put it on that rabbit. And for icing on the cake, he carried that jack a hundred yards back to us bob, the 23rd best dogrunner in cherokee county

  15. you boys ought to get your passports in order and come to the u.s. where there are still places bigger than your whole country that you can run your dogs on. We let thousands of illegal immigrants in each year, a few english speaking persons could pass almost immediately as pseudo-citizens, lol. besides, the women here love your accents, sugar mommas are a dime a dozen
