My youngest granddaughter, Imogen 2 years old tomorrow Sat 8th, is currently in the running to win a competition run by a local garden centre; she's currently running 2nd. If you follow the link below to Facebook it will take you to her photo. If you 'LIKE' it then you add to her score and it will go a long way to at least securing her current 2nd place with still a chance of getting 1st place. I will be forever grateful and it will relieve the earache my daughter is giving me as well. Personally I just love her to bits and she's my best mate as well as my granddaughter so winning means no

Bisley Long Range Gold are every bit as good as AA Field but their cost and, sometimes, availability rule them out. In the final analysis I think you'll find that AA Field suit 9 out of 10 of us.

I obtained this AR2079 in a rather sorry state with a split stock and bent barrel. It leaked like a sieve and put out 4ft//lbs. I bought it because it's a .177 and I have the wherewithall to put it right for next to nothing. The barrel was straightened with the use of a heavy rubber mallet and two softwood blocks and the stock was repaired with a metal dowel and Gorilla glue. The stock has been reshaped as I didn't like all those sharp and angular edges on the smaller 79 target stock. The length of pull has been increased with the insertion of a 3/4" Aluminium spacer at the butt and the s

ITS ON AN FAC ANYWAY AS IM IN NORTHERN IRELAND,THE RESTRICTOR SCREW AT THE SIDE WAS IN FULL AND LOCKED HENCE NO POWER Did it come back from Air Arms like that? If so I would have words with them about that. I like my Air Arms S400 but of late we seem to be getting more and more sad stories about AA service. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come.

60 years of age and not been without an airgun since I was 14 years young. I was NEVER supervised as a lad which I now realise was totally irresponsible on the part of my parents. I take my grandchildren shooting and they have never fired a pellet without being supervised - it's the only way, for everyone's benefit.

I agree with oldskool I stuck with my eley wasps .22 brilliant pellets tried others but always stuck with the wasps As regards Ely Wasps; if it doesn't have the name ELY on the tin, just Wasp, then they are made by BSA. There are still some stocks of Ely knocking around and they are far superior to the plain Wasp. As regards calibre my .177 hates either of them but in .22 flavour they are fine in all of my guns. They are a very short pellet compared to the likes of AA Field and I find they are that light and short they corkscrew using my .177 guns, so I use Bisley LRG, Accupell o

The pressure of the bottle may well be OK as most of us only fill our S4**'s to 175/180bar. The number of fills you will get depends on the water capacity of the bottle i.e. 12 litre, 7 litre, 3 litre. The larger the water capacity the more fills you will get. As for getting 120 shots per fill he may well be if he overfills the gun to 200 bar and shoots till it vents at 50 bar. Not a lot of point in that though is there, as only about of those shots (.22) will be on the money. You can overfill a 232 bar bottle to 250 bar perfectly safely if the dealer will do it but most bottles get rath

Cheers for that. I have bookmarked the site before but never looked at the pellet prices. There may be very little stock left for the rest of you now !

Oh yes? Your words my friend! Bulbs are by far the most convenient way of recharging in the field. Many a PCP owner would wish for something similar if it were possible. Plus when the gun is charged they are no longer bulbs but a charged reservoir so I don't actually see your point. :wallbash:

Quite frankly that info is way, way off the mark! I suggest you do a bit of research especially on US websites where they have a cult following. The sale of these guns is going through the roof at the moment. Just what is it you don't like about CO2 at 850psi as against the 2500psi in a PCP? I shoot the AA S400 Classic and I also have three CO2 guns. My fully tuned XS78 is a fair match for any gun at my club (they had the same opinion as you once upon a time - not any more though, I can't get it back off them at times) and I match them shot for shot out to 65yds, which seems to be about t

Best way mate. Every responsible air gunner should have access to one. My wife bought mine for me for last Christmas. She ordered it on Friday 21st Dec not expecting it till after Christmas but it was here the day after, the 22nd! Brilliant service and should you shoot the end off it as we all do at least once , the spares are dirt cheap.

The XS78 was originally a copy of the Crosman Rabbitstopper. Both guns replicate the bolt action of powder burners and were and actually still are used by some youth groups as trainers. The statement that it will be useless in cold weather isn't quite true as I use mine all year round. Co2 needs to be above 10 deg C to reach it's working pressure but that only needs to be at the guns breech. I use those small reusable hand warmers that you can get from Lidl and Aldi just tucked in my left hand adjacent to the breech and it shoots just as it does during the Summer. There is also the bonus

Think i might have a problem with my S410 :(

The last pre anit-tampers were about August 2007 same as mine. The funny thing about the S4*0 models is that unless you have the FAC rated model, going too high actually messes the accuracy right up. The best accuracy seems to be in the 10.5 to 11.3 ft/lbs region but it varies from gun to gun. Mines happy at 11.3 ft/lbs but go above that and it's a real cock-up. Even if it is the pre anti-tamper my information is that it won't go much above 13ft/lbs anyway. -
Rabbits are really quite intelligent animals and if they find one particular spot getting rather hazardous to survival they will move, lock, stock and barrel. Eventually they will return, maybe as another colony or a part of the original but don't make the mistake of thinking these animals are dumb. I used to hunt and I was really impressed with their survival skills and now I breed show rabbits. They are amazing animals that can be easily trained to do virtually anything a regular house pet can do; even litter training and walking on a lead - NOT me I might add  but my grandaughte

My advice for fast target acquisition - open sights or better still a red dot sight. A pistol is just not effecient or practical. You could of course brush up on your stalking skills or lie in wait, camouflaged or in cover. I don't hunt anymore (I breed rabbits now and respect their intelligence) but I would expect those that do to despatch cleanly and humanely with a head shot, so stalking or ambush is the way to do it.

I always used a 'Priest' comprising a length of copper tube lead filled at one end for both fishing and hunting.

Hmm! My dad when I was a teenager used to play merry hell with me when he riddled out his veggy patch every year. There was enough lead to flash the roof. I used to say that when his hair and teeth fell out then we'd know if it had any effect. Well his hair DID disappear as did his teeth and he passed away aged 53! Now my hair is waving goodbye and I've not got many of my own teeth left but I have, at least reached, 60 years of age. Mind you I don't smoke like he did and I didn't have to suffer the effects of World War II so the jury is out on the lead issue in the veggy patch.

There are many, many things you can do my friend some practical and some just bling. Whatever you do they are real fun guns to work on and shoot. Within certain constraints ie the temperature they are also very accurate. Mine, below has an AR2078 vented stock, MaxZbulk CO2 bulk adapter with pressure gauge, 12 oz paintball bottle with preset adapter, 9-13" JSR Pro swivel/tilt bipod, SMK 3-9x40 mil dot scope, Logun CCFC Carbon Fibre silencer fitted using a Julian Bond custom made 1/2"unf adapter, Rowan Engineering multishot magazine (this gun is the one featured on their website), satin Silve

There is guy at Hereward FTC was selling them in the clubhouse but I don't know his name and haven't been down for a while. Might be worth an email. Email Hereward FTC -
Glad your sorted as I was about to offer to make you one. JSR for me every time too, brilliant customer service.

I would agree with that statement as regards the Logan metal silencers and it was that reputation that made me want to try the CCFC. I would imagine it's going to end up on my 78 Carbine rather than my S400. I'll probably end up putting the old Weihrauch on that.
-
I agree unles you go custom I have an older type Weihrauch on one of my guns and the standard Air Arms slip-on on my S400 so I too was looking to change. I got the 1/2" unf off ebay for £12.50 inc p&p and I went to BAR at Blackpool to try one of the Logun CCFC carbon fibre silencers they have on offer, down £28 to £29.95. My first impressions were that it was too light to be effective and when I opened it up it just consisted of a single plastice moulding of two halves (incomletely) stuck together. The baffles are a fixed part of this moulding; so, no springs. Nor is there
