might have a gander in a while .....when i find out how exactly to get in with a mutt lol
-
they do a bit more than rabbits ,hence my wanting one ....if your referring to teeth,mr.fox, then ive no interest in doing them ..ive a bigger dog that takes the odd few ,,its more edible game and enjoyment im after ,im getting older now ,pleasing the mind is now my priority lol....thanks for the good wishes too...i think anyone that does a good bit of lamping/ferreting/shooting/bushing/wont go wrong with a kelpie x .thy can take way more stick than you can throw at them

the choice i made ,im happy with ...i think these pups could turn out to be handy rough cuts
-
well the 1st bit im not sure of ,a biter kils in the dark?hunts like fck...and takes the bushy man right up your street ,lol...i think i should know what this means but im lost lol...I was told by my mate he saw a few pups from the 1st litter and they were tiny ,plus when i saw the collie dog he was an ugly looking mutt,(i know....looks dont kill, lol) but he did not appeal to me ,so that was the finish of the idea using him...plus he was a sneaking about kind of mutt ,curving behind ye and the owner said ,just be careful,he doesnt take to strangers too much........GAME OVER AND OUT ,for me ..l

5 weeks 3 days in( but who's counting,lol)...another week should hopefully give a sign or the week after,.... Moocher71,best wishes to you and family also,a terrible situation to be facing,I realise there's more important things than pups, let's hope next year the gods will shine on you all ,

It came down to a few things,...lack of height and it didn't look the type I wanted, a bit cur shaped...plus it was a bit of a nasty c**t,and a litter the dog previously sired, none came over 23-24 ..inches.

so sorry to hear that Phil, best wishes for the future and hope all goes well for you and family,,she must be your ONLY priority, the dogs are well able to wait in the wings till all is back to normality...kind regards to you and your wife...

Thanks Ray,I gave it my best shot anyway,I'm down 320 euros for my efforts, but I don't care about that,be worth it if it happens, that is a beaut of a bitch above ,sneaky slinky all rounder lol...im off now with herself on a 2 hr drive to pick up a pair of Jill ferrets from my mate in Belfast, hes got a great line of workers so i will have a good rabbiting team by next season hopefully.....we meet up have brekkie and catch up on things ,thees no hope for me .lol

i reckon i know whos lost that, even though its been denied its theirs,i reckon i met that marsupial before lol

if they were advertised a while back for sale ,i wouldnt even consider breeding a litter ,she is spot on ,any back ground info on her Phil,is she yours?
-
i had her tested on a Monday, vet told me she was a few days off ,then same test wednesday, told me shes right tomorrow ,bang on the button, the bitch stood and accepted the dog no bother and tied ,for over 30 minutes ,it was an hour and 20 minutes each way to go,i got home for 11 that night after working all day ,it went well and i hadnt time to go again untill the saturday or sunday ,where i thought she would be passed her most fertile moments ,anyway ,shes done and hopefully taken ..another 2 weeks will tell...i would never have bred a litter if i could have found a pup from the exact breed ..
-
Hopefully I won't have to do it again for years,I don't enjoy breeding pups,I fret a little too much over them....that was the difficulty with the mating ,the distance and work was a hinderance
-
5 and a half weeks gone and no indication yet shes preggers, its too early yet i know ,i wait in hope and have turned back to religion (well not quiet ,but it could happen lol)
-
No bother with worker becoming a pet here lol...he's a soft old dog in the house,

i personally think ,temperament isnt going to be an issue with this litter ,so i will ignore any comments on the matter ,i own the greyhound for the last few years ,shes just like most all other greyhounds ive experienced over the years, docile and wanting petting while still capable of running, the sire and i met just once in the yard of the farmer,he showed nothing but calmness and acceptance towards me and the son ,friendly wagging tail and that is the end of the issue ,so forget about their attitudes now ,its not going to be a matter to dwell on i reckon..,id bet my bottom dollar on it ,ive

great to see you back Mr.Lloyd...
-
thats what i found with Taz ,my 1st x ...she was good with a gun as she was with the ferret and nets ,i kick myself i didnt do more lamping with her ,as she would have excelled in that too i reckon, they have so much to offer to the man that likes to do a bit of everything ,and wants a real close buddy too ,,...great photos Tomo,

the dam is 26 tts pure greyhound ,the sire is roughly 22 -23

back to bickering i see ,sad really...i expect the pups (if they materialise) to be steady calm temps like both parents ,i know what is behind in the parents plays a part too but i expect the breeding took place of this Kelpie dog because all the right signs were showing ...its a gamble with all litters ,but i think ive lessened the odds of getting a bad one

The eagle has landed,lol...very pleased with my new wheels, some amount of Nick nacks in it,hopefully I get 4 more years with it trouble free

Tomorrow is the big day for me ,collecting my new car from up the country ,looking forward to it ,but is it sad if you get an emotional attachment to a car ,lol...i had good trips in the last one ,went far and wide in it and never a bother from it ...im giving my current car to my son ,whos delighted with his new wheels, plus i can borrow it anytime and it has a towbar ,...2013 Toyota Avensis estate ,,,bring it on baby

,i know you need to assess and consider the temperament but as ive met the dog ,spoke to a man that used the dog as stud and he told me the offspring he produced have developed into very keen working dogs ,very biddable animals and in no way neurotic ,its enough for me to use him,the fact he was bought for one thousand euros ,im sure the current owner checked out this side of the dog as well as the working ability ,and he says he leaves the dog around the farm yard where the kids play with him and he is no bother to anyone, but always ready to do the job in an instant ,that for me is the the en
