Thats what i was thinking. If he socailises it on walks with the local cat from a pup then he would get to know the local cats and might not want to tear them apart? just a thought maybe?
My local permission has none so his dog will be fine there but it is his home address i am worried about. Should he start with a pup? Just starting out i thought it would be easier for him to buy a made dog but this comes with the problem that it may not like cats too. What would you advise?

Thats what im worried about mate! I dont want people reporting my pals dog for tearing up the local cats:( So if socilised well from a pup the lurcher should be ok with them?
Steve
Hi i have a freind who i interested in getting into working lurchers but i am worried for him as there are alot of cats in this area. My question is this can a working lurcher ever get along with cats? As everyone i have ever seen or worked has hated them. I am lucky as there are not that many cats near me and my dogs are always supervised. He has the problem that the dog will have to live indoors and not kill every cat in sight. If brough from a puppy and soicalised with cats could the dog tell the differece between a bunny and a cat and would it effect its work?
Thanks steve

In my opinion the best spring rifle ever made even better than the hw80. I like the wood on that one and the checkering is very unique
All the best mate
