NO i'm not a p***y!!! I have been working down in suffolk for two years now and i'm going back up the road to scotland and can't take all my dogs with me, I have 15!!! All dogs are working well for me and i wouldn't even consider selling them if i wasn't going back home and changing my job. So here is what i have starting with the oldest down to youngest.... 1) MIDGE, patterdale bitch (black/brown) 4 years old now, been working foxes for two years, rats for 3 years, she is a hardy bitch but is small so not wise to do silly stuff with her, she can deal with foxes underground if she can't get

Just wandered what yah all think to this bulls*#t, as im sure your all aware tail docking has been banned in scotland, so having being born and raised there was a little axious about my pups which where on the way and how to beat the ban, as it so happens a few weeks before pups came i got a keeper job in Suffolk so a bonus... could get the tails docked perfectly legaly....or so i thought, looking to abide by the law for a change i thought i'll just ring the vets when there born and arrange to get them legally docked, WELL none of the vets that i called where happy to do it!!!! So whats the FF

spot on have not been to a show for a couple of years never take the dogs just go along for a day out and take every thing you see or hear with a pinch of salt Was just wandering, never actually showed my terriers as i jst work em and like to take em to the races for a bit of fun in the summer, but do your dogs have to be "pretty" to enter a show, as i think it would be quite good to give it a bash just for something diffrent but i think mine might be to ugly! I personally love the look of my dogs but not sure a judge will!

Hey, aye the bitch is a proven earth dog, and i have a good feeling that if i still owned Nugget then he would be good to, the dogs will be worked on fox and rats, id say they would probably do more rats than foxes mind you as the new owners won't exactly be getting a chance to dig EVERY weekend as most are busy gamekeepers and will only bother with thery're foxes and no one elses. As for any dogs killing rats ive seen terriers that won't touch em! Even some dogs that worked fox like a demon turned there nose up at em! And some terriers that just dont touch anything at all... now that's CRAP!

Hey a think it's just him hunting my wee patt tears up grass and mud and generally wrecks everything in her way!!! Mind you she usually spits it out!!!

Hey he's a nice looking pup, unsuall kind of colour aint it? Almost kind of liver. One thing though buddie don't feel pressured into putting your dog to ground,it does my nut in the way some folk say have you worked him yet meaning have you worked him to FOX and seem to exclude any other form of terrier work ie rats and rabbits as not work somehow...as if it's not testing enough. Sorry just thought i should say that all forms of terrier work should be accepted on here as decent work for your dog..... This aint cos i dont work to fox i do i work fox and rats, i only don't to rabbits cos i dont

Hey, just looking for a wee bit of help on something thats been troubling me! It's not about HOW to breed, cos ive done that before but more so WHAT to breed, i have just retired my nice wee border bitch who has never once failed me, she was a carefull kind of bitch but has had a few teeth knocked out with tussles with foxes so not too carefull if you get my drift! But anyway i bred her to a red rough coated patterdale and got Nugget a black rough coat half border half patt! So the time has come i want to get a litter off my pure patt bitch of Nuttal breeding (or so ive been told bu the guy wa

Hey! Generally you can do rats any time of day, if you get a smoker then do them through the day, to start you just an old two stroke engine off something like a strimmer or saw, just make sure you take off all de limbing parts!!!! Put a bit of tough rubber pipe have a stong mix of two stroke and off you go, smoke the holes! And rats will soon come out. On the other hand if you cant get this then go out at dusk and stay out till yer torch runs out of battery!!! Rats tend to sleep through the day so don't bother in the morning unless you can smoke em out. Keep an eye on your dogs to, get them

Just what i was gonna mention, SS does any type of collar with a refletive strip and they really can come in handy. Got some years ago and wondered if it would work, it does and now Strong Stuff does 'em. Used if two dark dogs are running, you can tell which is which, though i'd blacken one strip in patches to tell the difference, bet SS would make 'em up different if asked nicely. If your dog is running single it sorta keeps one eye on the dog whilst your concentrating on your chosen quarry with the lamp, you get a better view of the twists and turns just out of the main beam. One sli

th It's a good thing aint it, and good you can get a few colours, i know you can get a lovely PINK reflective one...don't think the patt X border dog would like that though the bitches might take the p**ss out him! LOL
-
Yeh i can see your thinking! I dont use a collar just incase they get stuck under a pig arc or something! Kinda like a stuck pig eh?!!! JUST now got in from ratting had a good couple of hours and got 50 rats

Hey i hope nobody laughs at this now, but being quite a regular ratter especially at night on outdoor pig units i have had problems keeping an eye on all the dogs in the dakness, can be working 4/5 at a time by myself and the darker ones tend to not show up in the lamp that well as they fly about. So... as i was mooching around pets at home one day when i used to get packed tripe before whole tripe i noticed a wee reflective vest and had a brain storm!!! So bought a couple for trying, to be honest though i kept forgeting them when i went out, so on my current ratting trip in Suffok just now i
