We need to start to view drug use as a medical issue, IE self medication for mental health issues etc rather than a criminal one we might have some improvement.

Don’t really know why folk would push a dog to be catching at that age though. I’m happy if they do but I don’t take pups lamping at that age. Maybe just me!

you take them to watch your older dogs there bouncing some will be anticipating the turn nfirst time they run one been taking it in

Many dogs are catching rabbits at that age mate.

It's always best to stack the odds in the dogs favour at the end of the day at that age.

If the rabbits are that wise try and expand your permission, if you have ferrets though it's a no brainer.

loads are stopping bunnys by that age mate

evryone ive kept been stopping them by 8 month

kill a dozen or so then its nothing but hares until there gone 2

me white un knocked its first hare over 8 month

All dogs are different. I’ve got an 8 month old and a 15 month old at the moment. The younger one is sharper. The older one obviously runs better but the younger one was just born more predator like. My mate has a pup out of the big dog I lost recently and it’s killing tree rats at six months of age. Just got to work with what you have got, plenty of time and patience. You’ll know when enough is enough and it’s just not in the dog. ..... and you’re a long way from that point yet.

ive had good few puos first rabbit at 6 month mate

So your old man got given one off a farmer and that dog was put in to a lot of lurcher crosses?

I'd had guessed that it was the lads who were in to the coursing clubs and all that who would have started importing them.

I very much doubt the small time moocher would have bothered until they became more popular.

I imagine importing them was a dear do back in the day.

me old man bred pures  mainly mate he preferred them lads come from far and wide for his dogs this was before motorways some dogs would get sold and be sent on the train bk then

he crossed them to greys as lads he new had them on craven park etc and 3/4 breds from them

he would match a lot back then mate all the old boys called him saluki mac

multiple of his dogs were in the stuff at the beginning and later on mate not just one ?

Where did your old man get his Salukis from mate?

a farmer he knew he did some building work for him and asked for a pup instead a payment mate

he’d coursed since a bain with every type when the saluki came on the scene went from chasing with a few dogs to killing them

And it was these mens dogs that were the base for the coursing bred dogs of today in the UK?

So it was not the working class hunters who imported most of the saluki's?

I always had the idea that the foundation for our coursing dogs were imported in the 70's for some reason.

most the saluki in the start of our coursing breds we’re from my old man a lot a knightellington and then  some wind swift 70s and 80s negma al jaiden sir terence clark’s stuff come later etc come later

So twice a week 3-5 runs on good land that in my opinion take as much out of dog as 5 good nights on lamp in 7-10 days.If you feed right wash and rub down keep them warm and dry they can do it.

?i just think itll take a day or two for the dog to be back bouncing on the spot mate
