Can't see the point of it at all! why spoil a Good Gos or a Good black Spar in my mind....... Jasper probably because the breeders could not get SEMEN for the black spar's. so have just done it for the sake of it? or even just for the money?

yes good idea mate i have indoor tethering quarters so the bird is tethered but can still see out as she is next to a window also is on a long pole on a bench with free ring which ables her to move across the wooden bar, but yes mew is good but personally i would recomend steel bars instead of mesh as now and again teh bird might fly at teh mesh which they rip there tail feathers up! iv tried posting a photo of my bird shed but it wont let me! ?

gorgeous bird pal, but im one of many who doesnt see the point in cross breeding true hawks, you either fly one or the other they are totally different to falcons, few say cross breeding imprves of bird which is very true of the falcon family but true hawks i beg to differ as this does not improve, a gos and a spar are two totally different birds many say spars are just smaller versions of goshawks but it doesnt work like that shorely this would just be develope a coopes like bird? i kno the black spar is different to are native ueropean spars, and iv now read threads on tehf alconry forum th

Yeh hes only young as well, he'l grow to twice that i bet doubt it he is a girl , twice that? there full grown at 4 weeks, i dont no how old the bird is but she looks around 2-3 weeks, ill be surprised if she gets any bigger, she will just feather up which makes them look a descent amount bigger.

spot on if yur using a gos, but thses harris hawks are slow and unsteady with dogs most of the time even though sometimes can be very calm with dogs but very easily put off quarry by the smallest of movements from the dog!

i have done alot of woodland ferreting i have it easy in a way as i can just put my harris into a tree above set chuck ferrets down sit and wait, were as one has to setup nets and they can easily get snagged , but yes i have done alot od woodland ferreting it can be good fun and can usually give loud thumps under ground but as i have said can be a pain in teh arse ATB with your permission josh

it is usual for a harris to refuse fowl on top of water my fhh does the same, and harrises are not the fastest birds either so it is also usual for a harris not to be able to take duck in take off you would atleats need yoru harris at peak fitness! some goshawks can not take ducks so harris doesnt have much chance im not saying it is impossible, im just saying i wouldnt worry about it if i was you. although ducks are proberly the easiest for teh harris to take as the bird is lifting as they start off slow and get faster were as pheasants start fast get slower, dont drop his weight. maybe i

i cant really advise you tbh mate as i dont tend to work many hobs as there too big i prefer my little albino jills but i do have a hob polecoat hes a small hob though so hes an acception. the big old hobs drive me nuts as the get mixed up in the nets where as my jills slip straight through them but i dont use nets tbh anyway lol as my harris hawk works the bunnies

How do you get a permission when 14?
josh-waddingham replied to othickman's topic in Young Hunters Talk
it is hard to gain permission when just fourteen i use to find it really stressfull, just offer deals like give the farmer/land owner one rabbit out of every four that you catch -
it wont be owl if it was a tawny owl this bird will be whisteling and barn owls hiss and shreek, there are three possibilities either fox cubs but you will hear it more than once at a time or a vixen calling in cubs they make a loud really high pitched noise exactly to your specification and one other thing it could be a badger as badgers tend to make weird noises, but if you say theer were foxes then it is deffanitely either a vixen calling the cubs or fox cubs them selves, if its screaming then its a vixen, if its a high pitches cheap same kind of noise that cheetah cubs make then it is fox

More dogs stolen Wicklow
josh-waddingham replied to liamdelaney's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
its not until you'v had a dog that you know how much you would be upset if your dog got stolen and realise how much it would hurt the owner of the dogs that have been stolen, personally i wouldnt get the police involved i would track the theives down go across the legs with a crowbar we could do without these type of people in life -
