you probably know this already h+b but the only reason M sold the bitch (the dam) to me was because she hadnt got alot of mouth to her but she wasnt lacking in heart. he ended up buying the bitch back of me in the end just to work with along with the terriers i think. she could be trusted to a certain degree to walk alongside other dogs she was used to.

Yes M used her to draw the Newcastle FC supporters, she had plenty of what was needed for that Brenner.

Friend of mine owned Ch. Psycho he was a staff with a touch of bull terrier in him that's going back to the early 80s (early 80s he was born died about age 6 in a kennel fight) to be honest not sure if anything down off him is still around and if it is I'd say it's very watered down he was a 4 time winner 1 time loser with a lot of off the chain matchs not on record that he won.

Apparently there’s some crap Bull Lurchers bred nowadays, but what are the ones to look for?Are there names to look out for on the Bull side or greyhound side or is just dogs doing the job?

On a first cross bull cross I'd like to be seen the likes of CH and ROM in the ped on both sire and dams side, lines is preference all the house hold names will be mentioned in this thread "Frisco" "Jeep" "Eli" I could go on and on just remember the paper never rejects ink and names sell dogs "Hancock" "Plummer" ect back in the day would catch the eyes of some and have them part with there money for lurchers or terriers, likewise people selling bull xs will used the above lines or many other ones there is to shift pup's, worker to worker bull x haven seen both parent's work is often the best bet and stay away from the free adds pets4homes and gummtree, lot of well bred pups are spoken for before there born get talking to some lads on here that are trusted and see can you get your name down on a pup or might be lucky to find some already on the ground.

Best of luck in your search.

As promised I promised I'd kept ye updated , he's 12 months now and 21 tts , he kept his kind of 'seal coloured coat , he was fairly easy to train , sits jumps etc with ease , he'll tear a ditch down with the teckels and he's very gamey and 'switched on' quite easily the most switched on pup I've ever owned , he's got a mink by accident and made very quick work of it , only seen a little bit of the lamp as I'm not big into running dogs young but all I can say is I'm quite happy with him so far.

Them pits are all very big leggy dogs , very athletic

The original Frisco dog in Ireland I handled (in kennels no more) wasent leggy his name was Jett, TL owned him.

Edited to say as going off memory jets sire Finn was the first known Frisco bred dog I heard of in Ireland lad called Barry bred him to his bitch can't remember if he had sperm sent or was a live mateing I never seen Finn with a name like Finn I'd be guessing was named by a Irishman ?

  7. I know Tony was keeping the Dublin red strain staffs from about the 60s to 80s dogs done well at trials among other things (Red commando and wolf island boy the ones that come to mind)  Starski I don't reamber to be honest, in saying that I'm sure there is plenty I don't know so no offence intended.

  8. ??? all I can do when I hear his name is laugh he gave me some laughs over the years and as a teenager respect and thought me a lot, and cursed me with the bulldog bug

RIP I know it's been year's since he's passed but this topic deserves more then just 9 posts for a man that changed the game for bulldogs and lurchers as some his bulldog blood ran threw some the best of them.

Same as bud ?. Absolutely stunning litter. Atb

Pup's are a lottery, you just pay your money take your chances

I know you want a outgoing lively pups but I've seen some very timed and stand off pups become the pick of littler when 12m old

Nothing worse then breding a littler to hold back the pick (well what u think is the pick) to find out down the line it's the only one not working to the standard it's happened me ?

  11. That's going back now about 10/13yr ago I got about 2 seasons outta him when getting him I think I was told he was younger then he rely was ? I seen a decline in him over time would of loved to had him as a young dog, he could turn well for a big dog just lacked going up and down gears.

Was a b*****d for the ditchs would smash them don't know how he didn't brake his neck some the stuff he used to hit, I reamber one night fox hit the ditch he was hot on his tail fox jumped back out and the dog was stuck couldn't get out for a good 20seconds fox ran off laughing to himself I'd say ?

I took it as a joke buddy how was he bred like I said looks a nice stamp did you ever get ought out of him they all have there uses

He was 5/8 hound 3/8 bull I'd be lieing if I told you the bull blood in him I got him as a older dog, no I never bred him had no use for pups at the time + there was better all-round dogs to breed off, by the end of his working days he was left with only one k9 wasn't as good at pulling in his later days but still got the job done a decent honest dog never jacked or turned him head, but did lack gears and stamina got plenty of sport out of him anyways lot of lads were afraid of him I got him as he attacked a lad trying to take a fox off him and killed another dog I never had such problems with him.
