if left in a box for a long period it has the same effect as them having had a very long walk (very long) so would act to slow your dog down.
-
Irish ferries have kennels that you can use to transport your dog over if your a foot passenger.

this is advertised on a lurcher and hunting forum and lurchers arnt invited to particapte????????the amount of whippetsthat run at lurcher events is gettin bigger and bigger why dont you extend this to lurchers under 23 inch say,it wouldnt be nice when a dirty old working rough coated lurchers beats a ped pooch at its own game would it
it's quite simple Mark, i've put racing/lure coursing events (or tried) for lurchers
1 ~ I sat on the field 2 weeks running and none of those who had shown an interest turned up.
2 ~ I organised a 16 dog stake about 2 years ago 16 dogs entered 2 turned up? the words time wasters and bulls###ers springs to mind.
there again if I remember rightly wasn't it a KC whippet that beat a lurcher last year at a fair in Cornwall?

The hardest part would be getting a judge who knew what they were doing
The main thing is if you can get a club started you can build on it, just start off with a bit of fun not caring who wins.
i've been running lure coursing in Lancashire now for 7 years for whippets and most of the time the owners take it in turns to judge a meeting in a relaxed atmosphere its only the fact that this ones got prize money ect that we decided to bring in independent slipper/judge.
if you go along to 1` of the scotish racing clubs they will make you welcome.
Calidonian Thistle which rtace near the Kincarden power station just next to the Kincarden bridge and there the Scotish PWRC that race in Sterling.
if you want contact numbers for either/both of those clubs PM me.

Hi mate,
whippets would idealy need to be over 12 months (prferable 18) as the courses will be between 350-600yds long so in the interest of the pups 10 months would be a bit young.
-
Just a quick update.
there are only 2 places left available for this the biggest lure coursing meeting ever held for KC whippets, never before has so much prize money been offord for a whippet lure coursing meeting.
so far there are working/race/show/pet bred whippets entered so we have a good cross section of dogs.
I was hoping to see a few more from the well known working kennels entered but so far theyve not been recieved.

Contact this "Lynperry" guy and ask how many courses his dogs won in the official Whippet Coursing Club; 135 years of breeding !! Yeah !!
I have Personaly witnessed Lynprry dogs win several courses at EAWCC before the ban and they are still winning courses at the new East Anglia Whippet country club.
they make very good working dogs (day/night) do ok at racing but lack the top speed on the whole.
Give Paul a ring you'll get straight trouthfull answers.

Just a note to let everyone know that The Lancashire Pedigree Whippet Racing Club does not run or never has run racing for lurchers.
it has come to my attention that somone from Southport is selling a litter of lurcher pups claiming the mother of the pups races regularly at the Lancashire PWRC as the name suggest the club is for KC registered pedigree whippets only.
so it would seem that this breeder is giving buyers false information
-
shes still missing.
-
Right lads & Lasses a freind needs your help to find her 5 month olod home bred pup, went missing 2 days ago when out with its mum and sister in a local park in Prescott Mersyside,
she's brindle & white, microchiped but was not wearing any ID stating she was micro chipped.
heres a link to the doglost web site if anyone see's her please ring the owner on the number stated in the ad
-
yep the human ones work on dogs as well.
been there done that
-
do pure breds have no limits at race meetings
No Pedigree clubs dont run no limit classes
-
it will cost more to police it than they make from it, what about holiday makers who hire a rod for the day or kids that are crabbing off the rocks? bloody ridiculess

if you have your dog tattood through the national tattoo register they log your details and then (if) the police/rescue center check for ear marks they will contact you.
but be aware that a lot of rescue centers dont bother checking for ear markings?.
-
great looking pups mate.
-

Great news.
Most of us rate a ferret as worth about what? £5-£15?
BUT whats this ferret worth? its saved a good terriers life so what price would you put on it after this?.

As Hairybull say
you could do with giving you dog a couple of spoonfulls of Natural Yogart a couple of times a day afterbeibng on A/B's as they kill the good bacteria in the gut and the yogart restarts the good cultures.
