Hi All I have been roped in to helping a local organisation who want to get more attendance at the local and annual fund raising day. They have always had a dog show, but this has dwindled in recent years and they have asked for my help. Obviously with the short notice, there will not be miracles this year, but hopefully things will grow in the coming years - but only with support. There will be racing in the morning (straights only this year) with a lurcher and family dog show in the afternoon. We will look to extend this to terriers next year. We have also got a coupl

Wow, what an exhausting day. Still feel shattered and can't quite believe how tired i feel, my legs, bum and back all ache!!! Anyway, firstly i want to thank everyone who attended yesterday's show, because without you, it won't happen. Secondly, i want to again apologise for the long delay at the start of the day which enevitably led to the delay in showing (again, many of you showed true staying power and stayed right to the end, even though the wind got up and it got cold) and finally, the results: Straight Coursing was won by Tish Curran with Mouse Straight Racing was won by Joh

No not really Topper, as you should well be aware, i rotate between a show judge and a working judge in both rings each year, i also rotate between male and female. I don't want to get stuck with the same people judging my show. We have also all made mistakes in the past and if you can't give someone a change to redeem themselves, that is a bad job. Bristol Tim you really shouldn't believe everything you read or are told. I really wish the people that put on here (and other websites) who predict who's going to win shows would tell me the bloody lottery results and then i could just don

Just to let you all know that i have received notification that i have been awarded a qualifier for this year's countrymans weekly champion of champions for both Terriers and Lurchers, for the first time. I have also been selected as one of the 6 shows in the west country to host a qualfiier for this year's Buckham Fair's Dog of the year. this is open to all rescued dogs and the winner, which is to be judged at Buckham Fair on 19 August (i think), will be awarded a sum of money to be donated to their dog charity of choice, there is also a small monetary prize for the winner. if anyone wo

Hi All I have now loaded all 178 pictures and picked out a few to share here with you. I have also included the link to the whole album if anyone really wants to trawl through, unfortunately, it does only contain the coursing and terrier racing as the battery went so no straight racing piccies, but results are as follows: Coursing - Tish Curran with Mouse and Mr Goodland with Ziggy in reserve Straight Racing - Overs - Josh with Flash and Josh with Change in reserve. Simba in 3rd (sorry not sure of owner) and Maria Pether's Rebus in 4th Straight Racing - Unders - Tish Curran with Rio and
