    When I was a lad I use to follow a guy with two lurcher whos dogs use to crash into hedges as you say. Thats was great until a night in the early 90s when his bitch as you say desire in your dogs followed into the hedge at full tilt only to become impaled on a cast iron stake just at the wrong angle . Yes pure hard luck but it was not that image of the bitch howing in pain that haunts me its the guy pulled her of the stake and slit her throat which was the best thing for her.     Wont last long if they steam into every other dog either..... And wouoldnt last long with a lot of dogging lads as well if they had no bollocks.. except on rabbits!!! Oh dear I dont mix with dogging lads thanks so my dog will not being steaming into there And I guess when you say no bollocks expect on rabbits your saying you or work with guys who work outside of the law on quarry thats been banned to work on EG charlie.     no its not common in beddy x's until they need it, if trained right. left to grow alone in a dog run then maybe... you need an aggressive dog for where you live..... The arguers and the doubters, havec only picked up on the fence hitting etc... As i really havent heard a working lurcher described like this but like you say, each to there own...How old is the dog mate? Also a rabbit going into a hedge isnt really an unlikely catch.     I f you know your dog and have a good one to one repotoire with it, you will know when the dog is ready... Pair it up at 1st, you may be surprised... A charlston dog fox hunter doesnt have to be mean big and tough all the time... It can be soft as shit at home, 22" sleep with cats and scared of noise but once on the throat of a stinker, can turn into a raving lunatic...

    sorry but i dont understand this post... What good is adog that is aggressive to others! And why would you need a fearsome dog for rabbit...And do you not want a dog that crashes through hedges and gives you 100%..... very strange. Your happy to have a dog which is nasty to other dogs, yet doesnt have the balls to pursue its catch......
