  1. As said the buttalo is the most popular but get the rose wood whistle with adjustable screw as you can get buttalo working 1 day & nothing next & a couple calls is handy to vary between. How many calls in one sequence? How long should each call be within the sequence and how long do i wait before repeating the sequence? A sequence of questions lol, Thanks.
  2. Have had a several unproductive stalking trip lately with this morning being no exception. With the rut having started I would like to start using a call, and this is where I need some advise, i currently do not have one nor have i ever used one before. Could someone please tell me what to get and how to use it to best affect. Thanks

Am just about to start home loading and I was wondering if any of you could help, i want an all round load for deer and the odd foxs, I would be grateful for any advise, bullet weight, load, hollow piont or BT, currently i am shooting a 95gr BT federal. It is to be shot through a 20" barrelled blaser. Thank you.

  10. My last week’s stalking! Last Wednesday I went with a friend to a new piece of ground to cull a doe or two, on arrival the farm was under a foot of snow and after a good half an hour of crunching through the snow we saw a doe and a buck near a hedge which backed onto a huge fallow stubble field just below the Wiltshire Downs. We set about stalking them, but they just kept on moving further and further away, the buck was very jumpy and as soon as we got are ourselves into shooting position he spooked and took the doe with him running down the field and up the hill behind. As the weather a
  11. I am not the most experienced stalker, nor am I the best rifle shot, so I have taken the what I think is the sensible route of having two calibres. I have a .243 and a .308, I know some of you will think what is the point as they are capable of doing it all with their .243, I know it is all about bullet placement and a .243 will kill just as well as a .308 when the bullet is place in the right place but I have more confidence physiologically using the bigger calibre on bigger deer species, and at the end of the day all I want to do is be confident that when I pull the trigger the deer will di
  12. Will try these suggestions and let you know how i get on after the weekend. Thanks.
  13. Will try both and let you know how i get on, thanks.
  14. I have a Blaser R93 and two barrels a .243 and .308 I am shooting a 95gr .243 round and a 150gr .308 round, both are moderated with one jet z 30 cal which is proofed for both barrels, currently has a 8x56 swarovski scope mounted on saddleback mounts. My problems start once I have the rifle zeroed for the .243 I then change barrels and am unable to get the .308 to shoot a group as the scope does not have enough cross hair movement, i.e. I can not move the cross hair up and across enough, if I shoot the .308 without the mod there is no problem as it only requires minimum movement to get a zero
  15. what exactly do you want the dog to do? they are bred for working after the shot, i.e. trailing wounded game. I want a dog to track a wounded deer should the case arise. Thanks Jon
  16. Dogga, good luck selling your dogs they both look good types, i have had good results selling my cockers on the this website, www.ukgundogs.org/ hope this helps. Jon
  17. The only reason that testicles are out side the body is so they can produce live sperm which they can't at do at body temperature so as long as he has one descended testicle he will be able to sire pups, hope this helps.
  18. Your vet is right, it is the cancer risk that is the problem and that should only come in later life, it should not affect him in any way he will still be able to sire pups as he has one descended, good luck with him.
  19. I am looking to get a deer dog and i really like the Bavarian Mountain Hound, what do people know about them? Thanks
  20. I want to get a night vision add on module to use on two rifles, does anyone use one and if so what do they think of them? I want to use it on a 243 for foxing and a 22 for rabbits.
  21. I would always go for the 50, as it will allow more light in when it gets dull.
