  1. Already done it mate - he's got no record of who the dog went to, but knows it changed hands and went to Leeds. There's a LOT of folk in Leeds This is the lad in question : He's with me now as the finder couldn't keep him. LL
  2. Please can any of you who are up in the Sterling area keep an eye out for "Jed" and also pass the word around for folks to look out for him? He came to us in 2006, very emaciated and suffering with Haemorraghic Enteritis, was on a drip at the vet for four days and nearly died..........consequently his heart's affected and he's not as robust as he looks He won't be much use as a worker and he's castrated anyway, so won't be any use for breeding if someone's nicked him, so they might throw him out.........not necessarily close to home though He's microchipped to Lurcher Link, so hopefully
  3. Hi Woz, you can ring me on 01422 240168 - I'm normally out sorting the dogs during the day but you can get me teatimes or leave a message If you want you can email me on kaye@lurcherlink.org or pm me on here LL
  4. Panic over - he's been found and is home HE IS HOME YIPPEE Some kids had him cornered and were throwing stones at him and a girl rescued him and took him home. They then phoned the police who contacted me. He is cold and wet but otherwise ok
  5. 6. Put as many details as poss here: http://www.lurcher.org/lsuk/report_form.html and I'll get 'em on Lurcher Search pdq
  7. Depends on the dog and when it was neutered. Pups can actually grown taller than they would have normally if neutered early, but only an inch or so. Some dogs do put on weight, but this is easily sorted by giving more exercise and less food. There's a load of bollox (pardon the pun ) talked about neutering dogs affecting their working abilities - all the dogs rehomed by our rescue are neutered - mainly to stop them being nicked, but also to stop more unwanted Lurchers in the world - and if you want to see how it affects them, come to our Lure Coursing Event at Peterborough in October

  9. Have a look on : http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CLASSIC-GREYHOUND...9QQftidZ2QQtZkm at the "deerhound" sized ones. Can't recommend these collars highly enough
  10. Good news - hope she doesn't come home with kennel cough
  11. LSB 2894/11/L: Lurcher - Saluki / Whippet / Greyhound - bitch (entire) Smooth coated Red Black mask Tattooed in both ears in green ink Height: 19 tts Age: 6 month Wearing a leather Whippet collar Name is "Tina" Stolen from: Larkhall, Lanarkshire on 6/11/08 Circumstance of loss: Stolen from locked kennels in the early morning, along with another bitch which has been recovered.
  12. Can you pm me more details of the dog and where exactly it was found? I'll trawl through the list of missing dogs and check it out
  13. Please can you pm me more details of where your dog was found etc, so we can keep an eye out for others' dogs being disposed of in similar ways? I'm so sorry to hear the awful news..............I hate dog thieves soooooooo much but to steal and dog and then kill it is just unimaginably cruel and heartless The only consolation for you is that you know he's not anywhere suffering at someone else's hands There was an article about a Lurcher bitch found shot dead in Wales recently too http://www.dogmagazine.net/archives/1186/l...ed-in-woodland/
  14. Glad you've got one back - give me the pup#s details here: http://www.lurcher.org/lsuk/report_form.html and I'll get them sent around the Lurcher Search contacts asap. A word of warning though, if they were after another bitch, they could well come back so re-jig your dogs' security
  15. Suspect you might get another phone call soon saying they've "found it again" Just remember, when ££££ are mentioned, yours is old and "ill" and of no use as a worker etc, etc
  16. Nope,. sorry chaps not like either of them Here's a rough head shot of him so you can see it's not him (IYKWIM)
  17. Might help people claim he's theirs when he's not, too If anyone's lost a bull x male, just let me know and I'll tel you if it's him or not. I can assure you I'd rather he went back to his rightful owner than try to rehome him
  18. Just taken in some pts cases from one of our local pounds and one of them is bloody gurt bull x lad in fantastic condition - can't believe he's a stray Is anyone in the Yorks area missing their dog?
  19. Yep, at least it was quick and she didn't suffer - we've all been having nightmares thinking about her slowly starving to death with that muzzle on, so at least this was a better way to go Thank you to anyone who's been helping to search and please pass on the news that folk can stand down now
  20. I'm sorry to say that Meg's body has been recovered from the woods - it would seem she'd broken her neck possibly whilst chasing deer
  21. To sell them on - it's ALL about money
  22. I've got 2 hats on about this as 1) I run a Lurcher rescue so have dogs here who are waiting to be rehomed and I'm friggin' paranoid about them going awol - hence all our dogs are microchipped, have collars and ID tags on (in case they get dumped) and are neutered asap (to stop them being stolen for breeding). I've recently had travellers round wanting to know if I wanted to sell my caravan, and they had a good nosy whilst they were talking to me This has resulted in a flurry of purchases from B&Q - decent padlocks for each kennel run, an alarm for the door, motion detector light and fri
  23. I guess if you can't guarantee your dog will be OK with deer, either don't bring it or keep it on the lead. Lisa, who is really ill atm, is traveling down from Stoke to the New Forest this weekend to try and find this poor dog, so if there's anyone who's closer and can spare a couple of hours, it'd be MUCH appreciated
  24. No luck yet and people are getting really desperate There's folk with blood hounds out tracking her and some "mediums" are helping who say she's getting very cold and tired and her belly is hurting her Please pass the word around as many people as poss - they may have contacts out that way who could help
