how good does a dog need to be to warrant breeding from it??? what is classed as good?2-3 each time.. killing 4,s 5,s and sometimes 6,s... or is being bred from good parents enough to breed from? i mean if you have a bitch bred from ????? x ????? and its parents were legends.. yet this bitch lacks the ability to kill more than it misses....do you breed from it,trying to add what is missing or do you buy a pup in from parents that are both killing plenty??? me personally think that alot of lads do the second option...

its a lot easier for a dog to produce one better than himself, cos of the amount a stud dog could throw out........... its law of averages that it has to throw ONE... how many id charlie sire? buddy sire? lucky etc..... and then the one pup that turns out a good un..the dog gets all the credit.. ..... bitch gets forgot about most of time.. how many times have you heard someone say "its out of charlie" or its "lucky bred" etc ...and what do you class as a good one? surely to compare a pup to parent it would have to be run on same hares on same ground... you should be looking to future not the p

to many people in coursing worry about grandparents great grandparents of dog they have instead of concentrating on running and being happy with what they have now...... they breed because of bloodlines instead of performance... i know bloodlines are important but just because its bred from such and such doesnt mean its worth a carrot.... i think certain lines of dogs produce dogs as good as parents..but if you look at the big names in dogs ie..dancer=blondie both greats owned by same guy... snowy and foxy bred and ran by same guy.... captain,splodge ran by same guy..lucky tina etc its more do
