  2. I'd like to think i've been to every Working Show and Game Fair in the uk. But . . . . what I can't fathom is why so many folk dress in Realtree and Camo clothes in such places?? Is it because they like the feel of the clothes? (GOOOOOD Morning) or do they wear them to say "Hey I go Hunting"). Of which lets talk right most f*****g don't. Your opinions please Good or bad. When i'm at Show I wear a PINK shirt just in case you'd like to know!!! Edited "Because i'm shit at spelling".
  3. I'm going to put a another VM in for the time been and Next summer I'd think they will be a 200TDI or 300TDI going in. A friend has an L reg RR with the 300tdi and auto box which is very nice to drive and shifts for a big motor. I'd like to go with a Auto what ever engine I put in but couldn't do with the hassle of the Auto breaking down!
  4. Yes the 2.5 with the metal/tin cam cover as the 2.4/older ones had the alloy cam covers. So i'm told.
  5. Water fine, oil fine. Gets to normal temperature and stays there. I think i'm going with the Big end nacker'd idea? I've been in touch with the guy i bought it from and he's told me that the Engine is infact the Later 2.5td not the 2.4 it was advertised as!!

Only when driving (Not when stood idling). maybe its not the fuel system but you need to eliminate things and the fuel is a easy place to start before you right the engine off when it does smoke what colour is it over fueling will be black,lack of fuel will cause a knock because if for instance a injector is not working theres no fuel in the cylinder and your valves are still opening and closing thats where you get the knock.The perkins are ok but they need to have a turbo on them otherwise they are slow and noisey most of them came out of fork trucks Thats what I thought about the per

  15. Where would I find a Diesel Fitter? Yell? Thompsons? I will only start with a lot of pedel now so the fuel idea may be worth looking into what and how should I check?
  16. It has just had a full service INC All filters so I would'nt think they'd be much wrong with the Fuel system?
  17. 300tdi better I had a Defender 300TDI which was acracking truck but I was thinking more the 200TDi as i'm told I would'nt need to change the box? A chap on a LR forum says to stick with the VM engine as it's better then th TDi's?

  20. yep owned em for years...could be crank pressure if you take oil cap off is thier loads of pressure if you place your hand over oil filler when running? or another fav on em the turbo fins disintigrate in to engine? or could be crank on way out or big ends? if hard to start when cold odds are that the engine is semi siezing? hard to tell unless i hear it running if i can help let me know you would be better to fit 200 tdi as the na and turbo versions on landys all go at some point plus you feel the differance when you do it bit of fabrication involved tho down pipe ..oil cooler pipes and s
