    Having recently moved up north and having no permission up here i thought id have a drive round local farms and so on and see if i could obtain abit....New wellies,tidy shirt all prim an propper like and i was ready...unfortunately most of them seemd horrified at the thought of it and were shaking their heads before id even finnished talking!how the f**k do people get it?..my mates have permission back home but they got it through family or friends who allready had it,its hard work.looks like ill stick to scrounging days out with other lads.any advice?

    well done stig you earn the title of the number one authority on someone elses dogs names. it seems this topic has turned into who knows more about the big names and there dogs names,iv been to a few shows in the past and spoken to a few lads and all they seem to mention is have you heard of him or i know so and so,its the same on here its pretty funny really,all that matters at the end of the day (to me anyway)is how my dog works,dont get me wrong i do enjoy seeing other peoples dogs do well and hearing of famous dogs at their work but its not a competition as to who knows more about someone

    brilliant pic p***y...i think it would be a best seller too,iv read most of the terrier books available and there isnt much to read regarding the lads in ireland and from what iv heard and seen on here you lot certainly take your digging serious,i hope someone if not your self takes it upon themself to share with us that arent lucky enough to have been digging in the old days some of the stories of old digs and trials,all the best for the coming season.lee.

    very nice dog mate,you need to shrink the pics more,i go on a site called shrinkpictures.com and is free i shrink them by 50%and can fit them all in one topic,try it out.

    p***y is the big dog the old blind dog you talked about in darceys book?from what iv read youv seen some stuff and certainly know your onions wouldnt you ever contemplate writing a book?maybe a few irish lads could put something together it would be good to hear about old digs and trials and so on.just an idea.all the best for the coming season.

    shes out of some good stuff mate,shes got some good dogs in her breeding,her grand sire is middlton bred called "barney" its been in the earth dog chipper smith wrote about it.they wernt meant to be for sale but the bloke had to get rid after some unforseen circumstances,lukally enough i got one cheap.whats that dog you have mate?

    yes mate i saw powell at the welsh a few years ago when i went and the dogs he had were very big strong things.must do the job though cause them boys are proper digging lads and i couldnt see him keeping shite,the terrier in my avator is just under 15 inch havnt weighed him though but he can get in where i want him to.tiger dog how bigs kimbo now bet hes going to be a lump of a dog?

    big bull,his names not warren and hes not from hartlepool.hes just a good bloke doing a favour for a mate.iv just been and picked myn up and these dogs are riddled with digging blood,im very gratefull to "warren" for taking me for my bitch.like its been said in this post these are digging dogs from digging lads.i was happy to see the middleton bred dog "barney" wich i have seen in the mags was the grandsire and to see him in the flesh was a plesure, a real worker.thanks again mate,all the best.lee.

    my mate bought a bitch pup out of a litter off the same bloke about three year ago shes a very game bitch he bred a litter out of her this year to get a dog pup,the pup hes kept is a very nice strong dog,these dogs are as game as they come.
