    She was driving a soccer mom VW station wagon and the bloke was in a GTI - racy mags, paint job etc We saw them from a hundred m or so off - they wasted no time and got right to it. We had to walk right past to get back to our car but it didnt't bother them. So very funny!

    Some pic's from Germany. From last season - spent the day checking different earths with the only highlight being us catching a sugarmommy getting knobbed in her car hidden down one of the forest roads - until we tried this plastic covered bale stack on the way home. another day

    Absolutely. I had good success with pit/ridgeback crosses previously but am sure the dogo will be something else. We normally make bull/hound crosses for bushpig and they work great so I might try a dogo/saintongeois cross for pig. If the white coat remains after the cross I'll be really pleased.

    Tree stands a good idea for the scent factor - just limiting for your shooting options if he doesn't come axactly where you want. I guess the area has some human traffic so you can probably rule out the pig will visit the water during full daylight - which means the water is his last buisness before hiding. You write it was very long - makes me think a mixed bred pig - some domestic/wild boar cross. Visit the water every early morning for a week and learn the pigs schedule. Follow all tracks away from the water as far as possible.

    I have found that areas where there is a concentration of shit indicates a bedding area nearby.If you find shit of different ages then find the most travelled path and wait there before dawn.Go in at midnight and sit silently.Plan your route in during daylight and mark it with toilet paper at eye level.Have several sitting options depending on wind direction and stay silent.Guess you can't dig a pit? Central to all the sitting positions you must place some bait (dead chicken etc) to force the pig to stop for a short while. Or just get a good couple of dogs! What time of day was he

    Leopard ,Lynx(Caracal) and bushpig.Some recovery of wounded Lion. The Jterriers belong to a freind where I kennel my hounds.What questions would you like answered? It was a fairly difficult to import into South Africa but I have no idea of the veterinary regulations between the states and europe. It is however easily researched through an agent or the web. Would you mind to put me into contact with the guy in Finland as I would like to hunt some Lynx while I'm here in Europe?

    Hello KC, I am a South African currently living in Germany so can help you with Deutche Jagdterrier if you like.     Howzit , Provided one complies with the importation requirements there is no quarantine from Europe - Mozambique is different as you can image.There is a quarantine on animals that do not have a complete innoculation history especially regarding Rabies. Recently Dept.Agriculture has made compulsary all imported pets must also be microchipped. There are a number of characters that inhabit the holes including honey badger, but generally we drive the Jackal with hounds until he goes to ground - the jackal normally doesn't choose an occupied hole.

    Would there be enough interested Terrier men in the UK and surrounds that would be interested in doing problem animal hunts in South Africa.It would mean coming with your own Terriers and hunting almost every day for maybe 10 - 14 days.Costs would include accomodation, meals, all transport, hunting permits and all the Jackal you can dig? If there is enough response I can put a package togethur.

    Well.....they are generally nocturnal so best go out after 10pm.Then in order to find them in this plumage you should go where it is warm but still 'cool'.There are many different techniques to making the actual catch but most effective method is to dangle a set of Ferrari keys.Very important to camoflauge yourself 'rich' and mask your scent with something expensive.
