great workers whistler they never stop and by god when they are on a fox you will hear them a mile away.They seem have the same or even better nose ten the a full beagle and more obedience then the beagle ,you wont be waiting all day for them to come back will they hunt as long and far as a hound on the same fox? they hunt all day long whistler but they wont venture as far as hounds as in they wont follow the fox over 10 fields .That suits us cause we surround the covers and bogs with lurchers .Personally id prefer the x myself but each to their own i suppose.I find the x nearly always

went out at 8 this mornin with sionnach and 2 of the lads to hunt an old railway line to see if any foxes were about.It was a cold start to the day so i was praying for a dig .We hunted the railway line which led to a plantation and a forestey and the dogs were giving welly so we knew charlie was about.Some of the dogs were marking a 3 holer and we then discovered sionnachs bullxrussell was gone aground and was locked to the quarry .After about 15 mins digging with just a bar and our hands we were into the fox and terrier and the terrier was lifted and the fox was killed.A nice big vixen that
