Are you getting some baw?
Do you the world of good
Seriously thinking about it mate, since I've moved onto the Rollie's I'm coughing up enough tar to resurface the M74
You should do mate, If you get a decent one its got all the benefits of stopping smoking without any of the drawbacks.

just in the middle of putting an extension on a grade 2 listed building. So we have the planners and the conservation officers to deal with and its a mine field. Some of the planning rules I have just about got my head round over the years but the conservation officers are on a whole other level.
What they enforce is completely subjective so one can agree on something then be replaced in post by another officer who has a total different take on things who can in theory ask you to put it back.
Done work on listed buildings as well. That's conservation officers, national park planning officers and council planning officers you've got to deal with round here on certain jobs!
We are lucky here, we just fall outside the yorkshire dales 'area of outstanding natural beauty' thing or we would have similar here

Thing is with punishment and making them stay behind or homework, is that the parents just send in notes saying they're not doing it. Its only kids with parents who give a shit that it makes any difference with and those parents tend not to have children that cause problems in the first place. There is literally nothing teachers can do for the most part. They get one shit brained scheme or points systems after another which means f**k all to them or the kids dreamt up by some bell end in middle management . Who actually cares if their name goes up 5 times on the black board (sorry chalk board lol) or you get your name in a book that no one reads.
Was thinking about the cello tape thing and the logistics of it are mind boggling. cello-taping 20 kids with up to 6 strands each must have taken ages. Surely at some point in this process she would have calmed down and thought that maybe it wasnt the best of career moves

I teach nowadays, after seeing the world in a few other jobs, and whilst I don't agree with what she did, I can see what would have driven her to do it.
A lot of kids nowadays are lacking somewhat in respect, and I know that sounds like some old line every generation spins out, but it's true. They can't be quiet when told, won't do what they are asked to do, don't give a rat's ass about the fact that they are disrupting other decent kids who want to learn, and their parents see us as some sort of babysitter who should put up with the crap their little darlings come out with. I've seen parents come into school & physically attack staff because their kids were given a detention for bad behaviour, as we apparently have 'no right' to keep them behind (we do, for up to an hour).
I'm surprised more teachers haven't lost it considering what we have to put up with (and no, the wages aren't great when we start, the vast majority of us are not hang-wringing wussy liberals, and yes, we do spend most of our evenings trying not to laugh at the rubbish we have to mark instead of being able to go out hunting!)
Hats off to you mate.
My wife was a teacher when we met, it was doing her head in for the reasons you mention so she threw in the towel, also a few ex girlfriends were as well. And it always shocked me what they had to put up with, without the right discipline structures or support from management to do anything about it.

have you guys seen this asshole of a daughter... the new generation are even bigger c**ts than my generation
See the parents in tears ffs. poor buggers! What ever failings they may have had as parents it must be gut wrenching to have your child try to do that to you. After years of sacrifices etc trying to do the best for them. Hopefully when she grows up a bit it will be something she looks back on and regrets being such a spoilt little twat
As for the cello tape thingy. To my kids I would show a united front with the teachers and bollock them for not being quiet when asked. Then also go into the school and kick up a fuss. That sort of thing may have been OK back in the day but in this day and age its not right. We have moved on in terms of what we know about psychology and controlling kids so the need to stand over a child surely should no longer be needed. Thats the theory anyway...lol
Funnily enough I remember the same thing happening to me and that was well after the cane etc was banned lol

I've always tried to get the train in when I have to go. Have driven a few times but unless its just inside the M25 by a few mile its not worth the hassle and I also always seem to get caught out by the congestion charge and late payment fine when I forget.
When I work there its usually right in the centre. I would hate to live round there and dont enjoy my trips down much. I like it for a night out though and have had some massive nights and weekends out in London
How does that congestion charge work ? Should I have paid something ??? .........
I am not the right person to ask mate as I dont know enough about it and exactly where it is but there is a sort of cordon that if you go past your number plate gets scanned and you get auto billed. It is sign posted (but with all the traffic and general mess its easy to miss) think you may be able to pay by text or call up, but if you forget to pay they sting you. It was about 6 years ago when I last got it but was stung for about £85 for forgetting all about having to pay. I think they give you a few days grace to pay though so you may be all right still.
Anyone help socks with where abouts in London the congestion charge kicks in?

I think he is guilty, without a doubt.. Neighbors hearing them screaming at each other all night before the shots, security guards calling him after shots were fired and him telling them all was well etc etc. If he walks (lol sorry) away from this one something has gone seriously wrong

if lice get under felt you will never get them out. where as tin or something you can spray with something. if your using bits try and have the least joins in it as poss if you get me, so little space for lice to live
OK mate, I think if I use whats already here it will have to be several overlapping sections mounted on a wooden frame but I will have to see what I have, otherwise I will just buy some

good step by step guide if anyones knocking one up
I'm hoping it will all work as intended. With hindsight I wish I had left another 10cm of head room in there but should be fine regardless

Thanks for the comments all,
Slower progress today as it was pissing it down and I had the full entourage of little helpers with me as well. Even got the dark knight stopping by to lend a hand lol.
Felt next for the roof and nesting box lids, then douse the lot in stain/ creosote when its next fully dry.
The dogs had more sense than to stay out once it started raining lol

It's the parents that make the kids like that. If that little girl doesn't grow out of it, her kids will be like that too. With however many millions of dogs in the country, her life is going to be a misery.
It will be 100% the parents fault. The little girl will have witnessed her mum going into a melt down every time she sees a dog then thats the sort of behavior that she will learn.

when i do it its from the feet but dont think it makes any massive difference. I would not leave it laid down or against something.
The shed this time of year should be fine or anywhere cool, dry and out of the sun is fine, garage, outbuilding, basement etc
A fridge with the shelves out would do the trick if non of the above are available

I would never leave the guts in for any period of time mate. I know that with some species some say to leave them in but 4 day old guts still in is not my cup of tea. The only thing I hang really is venison and even then normally only a couple of days. rabbits, hare phesants tend to get cooked straight away or frozen
I dont like the sound of it myself! Main things i will be getting are rabbit pheasant pigeon and slight chance of a hare.
Most people will hang game when they intend to eat it. I tend not to but thats just down to lazyness most the time

Thanks for the advice. I figured they may share the nest boxes so I had decided to make the nesting boxes sort of open plan lol.
Socks, thanks for the offer of the dimensions, Dont go to any trouble as I have half built it already. I will get some pictures fired up later when it is as close to done as I can get it today.
thanks again
