    KG kept the bitch pup,in fact I think that was only survivor,if memory serves me,last time I spoke to KG he said she was out learning her trade and was gutted old dog was dead,,not as much as me shall we say,,dog and bitch pup ive kept out of old to bitch im about to line are small in size,well for what I need them for,although only a young dog,stupidly keen,and had a couple under his belt,bitch just not as keen,but coming on,but I wanted a pig strong dog so bitch going to a old dog of a good terrierman which is in the make up of my bitch so fingers crossed,i hope I get a dog,

    Donnyc he used my dog over a bullxpat to a Russell then that offspring was put to my lakey dog,,i keep lakeys mate,but id gladly use one of KG dogs if id bought a bitch in,but I like my lakey line so wanted to keep it as pure as poss,,cheers

    To foxdropper,,at what age do you cull?? I know weve had a bit banter before,but im stuck and must use this untried but related dog,,the litters have produced either bitch only or 1 dog litters,and some are a bit close either litter brother,her son or her half brother,im not to keen on going that close,,dog is her grandson and great grandson on both sides,but totally untried and his owner a well known north east border keeper aswell don't want to loose him,i got a phone call before saying her great grandfather is still alive but nearly 15,,do I try him?? he sired a litter 9 mths ago or do I g

    cheers GTE,ive got no choice really grandfather was my preferred option as a cracking dog that was the grandfather on both sides of the two pups ive got now,one great grandfather,other great,like I said last out cross produced workers but lost a lot in size and stamp,i have the opertunity to use one of these outcrosses but want a big strong dog over my bitch,i used her uncle and pups fine,bitch a bit slower than dog but still ok,so where do I go,,catch 22 situation,,

    I'm about to use a untested dog on my lakey bitch,was going to use her grandfather,but he has sadly met his maker,im using a dog by him,this dog was produced from a long line of workers,my bitches grandfather was put to my bitches mothers litter sister,to produce this untried dog,which is from a 4 bitch 1 dog litter,and as up to now has been the only surviving dog from past 4 litters,my bitch coming up 7,and basically haven't got time to wait,i have her son and daughter,son keen bitch a bit slow,but getting back to breeding where do I go?? a outcross?? I have looked but want size put into line

    big buns ive had terriers years,and if that not showing intrest by 9mths tha not going to do it,my laleys have always been like that,my borders are totally different,dog wouldn't work,i knew it wouldn't so when Iad offered to buy it for a show dog it was sold,end of,,and my pups are on rats as soon as big teeth in,and I have only had that one dog fail,read about the 2 lakey pups ive got at min,dog flying but bitch not as keen,tha almost 12mths old,theyve never been put in a situation that ive never been fully in control of,,how many you had fail??

    STOP END,i thought this whole thread was pre ban,and everyone has tha own opinion,in the days we were allowed to garry out this glourious pastime how many lads haven't said,let the pup have a look? none by the replies,, but I have and everytime we were out tha was always something needing a look or do all the superstar line bred terriers do it naturally,some people pass tha driving test 1st time,are 2nd,3rd 4th timers worse drivers,everyone is different that's what makes these debates intresting,but don't slag each other,,ill do it to defend myself,,as always but never start a slagging match..

    Foxdropper around my neck of the woods I'm fairly well known, thru dogs and and have made more friends than enemy,il help anyone,ive got a tire business and do all the hunting lads favours, cost price that costs me,, and they travel from miles away for that, and a bit of dog.
