Had a close one with a terrier today, got to him and he was out cold. after some mouth to mouth, cpr and a dunk in a stream i got him goin again. In general what do you lads give your dogs if they have a hard workout. Be it a greyhound after a race, lurcher after a tough night out or like my terrier today, what do you use to give the system a boost?
I'm using the orthovox collar. I made up a hard plastic cover and use a leather collar. I tape it up too but only because its a habit i have from my old deben.
Here is where i bought my barryvox pulse. Got it for £190 on special offer. I took Matulkah's word that it was good and he was dead right. My friend has b&f and he prefers mine. Its easy to use from the very start. You might have to make sure to specify that you want the pulse as they sent me out the opto 3000 first.

I had shit luck last year and ended up with no terrier never mind a working one. I sifted through some crap dogs for the whole season, trial and error. I got lucky in the end and bought a 3 year old dog off a guy that wasn't getting out anymore for €300. I got some pups during the sifting that will be tried towards the end of this year. Unless you are lucky enough to meet someone genuine you'll have to play the reaper every time someone sells on their rejects.
Best of luck
i made one up from a cro bar, solid type with point one end and flat the other end. Left the point on top and welded the head of a good heavy graft to the flat end. the head is cut down to about 5 inches or so and it is some tool to break rocks and roots. heavy but good exercise
thanks for the feedback. i'm looking to breed a first cross litter this year, have a couple in mind. If i was to breed a bull cross and had the dam greyhound, is the litter inclined to be more leggy than if the bull was the dam. i've seen some nice leggy bull x's and some stumpy yolks aswell. i'm just using these crosses as examples
I asked a friend a question today as i've yet to breed a home grown lurcher. Does it matter, for lets say a first cross collie grey, if the greyhound is the dam or the sire of the litter? He couldnt be sure so maybe someone could let me know
I feed nuts mixed with scraps from the house and soak them for half hour. No problems with it so far. Potatoes bad?????? Is that right? What do ye think my grub, good or bad, i'm feeding lurchers, pointers, collies, terriers......
the lad i'm trying to educate allmost bought a bull x on a hunting forum , the dog was hardly marked around the face and was by no means a "draw dog " .......... so i thought it a good idea for him to see for himself what other peoples opinions are ........ bbb thanks for the above comment
We use a first x bull grey. dont know her exact height but she is short. she is game as hell n fit to draw anything. ive seen good bull x's with plenty of marks but she is really cute, she very seldom gets caught. if you came to see her in her kennel you wouldnt be interested but in the field is a di
Just a quick question, I know plummers dont get great publicity but whats the chances of a working pup when its crossed with a lakeland. One of my friends just got one but its new ground for us? Any chance of a hard dog from the cross?

thanks for the tips. Some great looking dogs there lads. i think the brinble dog looks the part. Im fairly new to this game, does it make a difference whether the grey is the sire or the dam.

Hi, ive been thinking about an alsation x grey but dont know much about them. ive heard good and bad reviews from a couple of people. Anyone have any experience with them? oh yeah, i was told that an alsation and a german shepard are different dogs, i always thought they were the same
Hello everyone
First time to a forum. Im from Eire and pullin my hair out. Any pups i've tried over the last couple of years have fallen well short of the mark. I have a nice little border/lakeland thats 1 but still seems to be pupish, not scared of whats happening but puzzled. I could do with a pup or two from good stock if anyone knows of some my side of the water
