  1. Hi Mate, I've been small boating for 24 years, Buying a boat well look around theres good deals every were! But thats the easy part,if you buy a second hand boat engine hours are important, condition of the boat (ie belly band transon keel and allround condition of the boat, engine maintance is a key to sefety, The likes of gps and fish finders are extras, marine radios you need a licence to operate a ship to shore radio it's a 2 to 3 day thing which helps you use and understand these radios, there are safe water training schools everywhere, in some areas you must complete this trianing before
  2. Hi Mate, Sounds more like a electrical issue than a mechanical problem, speed comes from a power Regulator and not gears, Throttle control or motor bushes it could be ?
  3. night fishing has got it's advanage over daytime! Or so most people think, The truth is it's about location " what rig and bait you use also tide, Some marks you want to fish may fish better on the turn of the tide or the flood and even the edd,( rigs; If their no snaggs a 2 hooked flapper is good rig to use, If their is snaggs I would use a pennel pulley rig, (Bait; peeler is the best bait becaues of it's juices but lug/squid wrap works just as gud, tide and location are the factor you must work out for your mark you wish to fish. Good luck
