The scope has what is called a post & crosshair reticle - very popular in the 1960s - 1970s. The yellow sticker on front bell looks to be a Japanese optics mfgr. Inspection passed sticker. Scope quite possibly made by LOW ( Light Optics Works), SUWA, or Hakko. Nice bit of kit, have fun gussying it up

Why worry yourself over a 1 piece mount ? A 98 , nee 95, in good stead will be fine on Sportsmatch double straps or BKL mounts...even at FAC power.

Very nice piece of gun furniture.

No need really for the extra 10 ft. lbs. Keep a 16 grain pellet @ 850 - 900fps. ( stay subsonic). You'll have plenty enough power & decent trajectory to do what you need. The HWs are a good workhorse. Pardon my manners , Welcome. -
As our ( California) hunting seasons are coming to an end - Small game/ Upland bird : Rabbit - July1st - Jan. 30th Grey Squirrel - Sept. - January. Wild Turkey - spring & Fall seasons. Quail & Partridge - September - January, Only leaves me Collared Doves & ground squirrel( pests) to hunt , so I'll post hunts when I can.

Hello , & thank you.

Thanks for the welcome Phil. While we have no power ceilings here, I ( withhold 1 rifle - my HW95) hunt mostly with sub 12 ft - lbs as well. Three HW 99s ( .177, .20 & .22), HW30s & .177 HW35 E all at U.K. " full power". The snakes are kept at rifle distance - mostly.
