  1. be spot on for rabbits clever little dogs. My pal brought a collie Whippet lamping couple year back he bought it at 2 year old ready running 3rd he slipped the dog it went about 50yard to the right then out of the beam I started laughing I knew it was running down then outta nowhere she came in from the side picking the rabbit up. He said for a min he thought he'd bought a pile of shite. She turned out a real good dog
  2. They're the same hare lepus timidus
  3. My first dog was a beddy Whippet grey birch she was game as hell 110% into everything she did just her feet let her down. I remember my old man telling me to get ready for school he'll drop me off my mam didn't know any different we set off up the street but turned the wrong way we normally would to school I kept my mouth shut fell asleep and got woken up come pick one of these. We were in goathland near Whitby. Memories of that bitch will be with me forever she went everywhere with me she was still running at 12/13 what she lacked in speed as she got older she gained in brain putting herself
  4. How's it bred collie bull grey ? Them hills in the backdrop look a good walk
  5. The blue hare in the Heather are easier get them on the big open patches where they've burnt it to the floor and on big breaks between the Heather they nothing like a rabbit. I ran the Irish hares and run the same as each other brown hare different kettle of fish compared to both. A young lad over in Ireland was splattering them Irish ones with a Irish terrier greyhound he brought it over with his old man s saluki types and tried running browns it got destroyed. Then took him up on the blues and was all over em
  6. You couldn't write it could you lol best things since sliced bread so the man runs blue merle collie xs ?
  7. Let's see some of next season's hopefuls. My line bred sand slug 8 month old shaping up nicely
  8. Probably the best longdog you can imagine but no world beaters ? he's starting to realise the shite coming out his mouth. Must of had a day off the gear.
  9. Old boy at the end of out street has transit with all the boxes in he goes all over the country picking birds up and letting an go for lads. When I had ferrets I was forever getting bag fulls of birds that weren't the grade. Same fella gave nearly 5k for a bird he was showing us it one day and slid the loft door right over it ... Ferrets enjoyed it all the same he was boiling most expensive dinner a ferrets had lol. We used to wind him up swapping his birds about from one loft to another once had a load of fantails given we went down one night boxed all his birds from one loft and put the fan
  10. Nice. looks like a saker gyr ? Had a nice female gyr 2 seasons ago one of the best hare birds I've seen keep thinking of getting another.
  11. We've an old non ped Whippet bitch here blue bridle she'll be 20" tts back when she was young shed knock the odd hare over in a morning I used to take her coursing with the purpose bred dogs for us to have a laugh with. In the lamp she would regularly do 2 s 3s and odd 4 shed pull foxes but lacked the strength she hated roe with a vengeance but learnt to hit their front leg and bowl them over. Tried lining her but never took would of been nice to get a saluki type over her
  12. I've ran em bud and had a coupl of lads come over from Ireland put a few days coursing on the browns then had a day on the blue hares and they said themselves they're the same running. The Irish hare only difference is it doesn't change to white through winter to do with altitude it's as though it's bred out of them to do it
  13. Can't beat a bit of relax time. What's that rug on the wall with raptor foot on ?
  14. The Irish hare is same subspecies as the blue hare they don't run anything near the brown hare not as fast or for as long
  15. We can stop having bad dreams and sleepless nights wondering if we'll get a bend outta em with our turbo sand slugs
  16. Each to there own but I know a few spots holding the same subspecies of hare I start pups on them at 7-8 Month they're easy running I've took older dogs up they've done 12/13 a piece just in a few hour we did 41 one morning between 4 dogs if it wasn't for the keeper hating them passing ticks on to the grouse I'd not of bothered with the older dogs
  17. Not a bad run them bowline wouldn't if let it of first field. Never mind these sand slugs I run wouldn't of been getting towed 3 fields ? what you reckon @mC HULL
  18. We've got them over here well same subspecies up on the tops ours change colour though in winter good sport for the pups
  19. Look like Irish hares are they ?
