  1. Do they get picky because of daytime work or just regular lamp work? Mine wont run them daytime on the hedge but willl on the lamp as she knows they will turn off dyke sometimes and the chase is on.

what precentage is the collie bull? I would put a racy 3/4grey 1/4 bull over a solid first cross collie if i was think of that type of breading.. Or to you think that not enoght collie and would be two fast?

i own quite a number of dogs at present.all bred and trained by myself, the one that stands out on rabbits and big rabbits. is a bitch bred out of a border collie(bitch) cross greyhound (dog) back to a 3/8th bull 5/8th greyhound thus giving a bit more drive. i would recommend this for an all round lurcher capable of taking what ever you like. all the best dai dogs
  2. Nothing for you to worry about dai dogs, save your brain power, you'll need it for training that husky x greyhound pup when it arrives into the world :laugh:

dont need to save any of my brain power for training dogs it comes natural . not like some of the young children trying to make a name for themselves.

  3. Anyone using welsh collie lurchers??

    cheers magie pie.. :)

iv bred and worked border colliie cross greyhounds for a long time. in my oppinion if looking for a rabbit dog the best way is greyhound shire collie dam. be aware if worked regular on lamp and i mean regular (4-5 nights a week weather permmitting) the older they get (4 years plus) the collie cross gets a little to intelligent and starts picking what to run such as if the quarry is to near a hedge ect. you may class it as coserving energy. i class it as to clever. iv had better sucsess with collie greyhound x bull greyhound. all the best dai dogs
  4. Right lads , got about 10 to 13 grand to spend on a 4x4 ( not well off just saved my nuts off)

What would you have , the more i look into different 4x4 the more i get confused :wallbash:

Was thinking of a Toyota Hilux ,not too bad on fuel, relible ,will be doing a bit of off roading not lots,

and i can take family in it ( 6 of us) plus dogs out of way in back so mrs can moan about smell. lol

do you think i would be far off mark with a Hilux?

    DM

iv had most 4x4s in my short spell on this planet. hilux very good for general work horse and road use also a very nice drive. same gos for land cruiser, not so good off road a bit light on the back end without 6 people in. defender different story.

  5. OK folks I am going to appoint myself Miss Quote Mod :toast: and give youse a handy hint on how to avoid quoting unneccesary bits of quotes when you make a post.

If you just want to reply to what someone has said - hit the REPLY button

If you want to quote part of what they have said, then its easy to do, when you hit the QUOTE button, their quote will come up in your post and there will be tags like this [ and this ] everything inbetween those tags can be edited so if you want to trim down what the person has said, you can cut out all the bits including pics which will usually show up as attatchments with a number beside them, and just keep the bit you want.

If you want to highlight a certain word or phrase someone has said within their quote you can use the B tag in the boxes above where you post to make it bold, the I tag which makes it italics (slanted writing) or the U box which underlines it. You can also use colours to make it stand out.

If you want to quote what someones said within multiple quotes by different people, look for the persons username and trim the quote down til you get to their name, making sure not to delete past the ] otherwise you will end up with a load of babble instead of a nice neat quote

    like this

If you want to do multiple quotes, use the quote tags above the posting box they show up as a wee symbol with a speech bubble.

If you arent sure about what youve posted and how it will look, instead of clicking POST REPLY or POST NEW TOPIC, you can click PREVEIW POST and if theres anything you dont like the look of you can edit it, it allows you to see what youve quoted and if its come out right and last but not least if you change your mind you can always draw a line through it like so

I need a drink now after explaining all that

    Hope that helps :toast::toast:

what the f**k was that all about ?

  6. Are all 13 working dogs, or are some living out their retirerment ? If all 13 are working dogs, how do you find time, game, land, to work so many dogs ??

    Cheers.

hi, as for finding the land to work. as far as the eye can see is the ground i work. anywhere in the country.( free spirit) the dogs are not all workers some are pedigree dogs.. :drink: keep hunting.
  7. just came home with 2 bull cross pups which i bought. wife asked me how many dogs do i want. i told her iv only got room for another 2. she wasnt amused with that reply. with 13 dogs down in the kennels i thought how many is enough. have any of you guys had the same thoughts ?
