  1. I think their powers seem to be in relation to animal welfare rather than licences.

Also the legislation seems to distinguish between premises and dwelling.

They can enter premises, but they have to be invited or have a warrant to enter a dwelling. Bring the dog into the house???

They also seem to be able to bring someone to assist them. I presume this is the ISPCA?

  2. The Animal Health and Welfare Act Section 38, 39 and 40 contain details of the powers of dog wardens and the Garda.

They seem to have a lot of powers to enter a premises if they suspect there is a breach of the Act.

They don't seem to have the same powers to enter your house.

Have a read through see how you get on.

    I hope this helps

On my second pieps box myself, first one got broke when I threw it over a hedge to a mate standing on a road only thing was he was about 10 foot away from I thought he was. Lol. Thank fcuk the terrier moved as we didn't fancy digging on a busy b road.

Always found the pieps spot on and can be bought second hand on ebay, payed 70 quid for my last one out of Italy and it was like brand new.

I did something similar with mine. I brought it to the local PC/telephone repair shop and he fixed it for €40.

    Might be worth a shot?

for anyone familiar with a great old time bulldog and terrier man, JERRY ALLEN has passed away, breeder of psycho and many many other great digging dogs and bull dogs...

As a young lad growing up in Cork, it was men like Jerry Allen that we looked up to and aspired to be like.

Jerry also kept a very good pack of hounds, that are well known throughout the country.

A true hunting and doggy man.

Do the different seaweed have different uses e.g. certain ones for eating, different ones for supplements and for fertiliser?

What's the dried out seaweed that you can add to dog feed as a supplement and what's it good for?

    Thanks

    Cheers BH. I'd missed this.

I'm a ukdtr member and track using my lurcher. She / we were trained by them. She still does all the other jobs a lurcher should do. I also use her as an indicator dog while stalking. I don't do enough tracking to justify a single purpose dog for it.

If i put the tracking harness on her then she knows it's tracking time so ignores other stuff. She also knows the difference between a shot gun and a rifle and acts accordingly.

Dogs are cleverer than we give them credit for.

    Thanks for the info

The British Deer Society also run  deer tracking courses leading to qualifications.  I trail live deer with my lurchers strictly on an amateur basis as part of wild life watching and they find nearly every time we go out.  I keep mine on a long lead while tracking.  A dog whose natural quarry would be deer seems to avoid being distracted by other scents and to stick to the trail best.  My best one is a saluki cross bitch with a very high prey drive ( a nutter really!). But I am sure some more professional people than I am will be along with more useful advice!

Thanks very much, I'll have a look at the website
