How is the word stupid enlighten me please.
Travelling a long way to run a quarry you can run here, on land that's no better than here and in a country that's hotter than here..........
Just because it's a French hare doesn't make it special, or more of a challenge..... the dog doesn't know it's French! It's just a hare in a big flat field where everyone wants to shoot your dog, bake spike your truck and batter you apparently.
Not sure how going out there makes you any more dedicated than someone going down the road and knocking over a load of scabby big bunnies there?
Now if it was a special quarry, special land or somewhere there were fecking millions of whatever you were into then fair enough.

It's a hunting site and the man has the privilege to live somewhere it's legal to kill foxes with a dog, why the hell wouldn't he post them
It's some of the best reading I've seen on here so far, most of the rest is just drivel, kiddy talk or people arse licking folk they don't know, who's dogs they have never seen and using weird secret squirrel talk.

Talking to some folk who went, it sounds like half of them had a good idea what they were doing, and some others were dreamers (also known as idiots) who didn't have a scooby door about how to hunt a beast and the chance of their dog being much use if they did catch up with one ..... even slimmer.
Good crack having away days with the right folk, on the right place though. Best off if you and your dogs hunt together regular though.

The lad who's desperate to be a legendary dog man, comes on thl not knowing jack and 3 months later is handing out advice like he's talking to children (most of whom are probably older than him), and giving it big licks. Always talking about how much gear he caught last time he was out without you but who's dog you've never seen catch anything when you're out with them.....
Seen to be lots like that from having a wee read around.

Lots of folk on here will probably say they are number one .... the 'proper' dog man. But most are talking shite because their best dogs are the high end of average if lucky and the ones they pass on because they don't make the grade are only like that due to their own failings as a dog man. Obviously there are some lads that are pretty hard on their dogs and have good stock, but just like good dogs...... there are a lot less proper dog men on here than it looks at a glance.....

It stumps me why you'd travel all that way to chase a scabby hare about a big flat field and get hassled by the cops, when you can do the same here, only it's less far to walk home when your tyres get slashed. If I was going to travel over there I'd want a bit more than a big rabbit.

This is gonna sound unpopular but I think most is in the breeding, and how much they get out. Training wise it seems pot luck, some dogs you train a lot and they still act like knobs, others you do nowt and they are great. Biggest thing is having a bond and them liking you and wanting to please.

Halogen much better to lamp with but led easy. It's the lazy option for a quick shine

You'd be surprised, seen some handy bull x's on rough land, hard land. What about a sal/bull/grey or sal/collie/grey? Would probably be my pick, or something that does it already local to you?
