A couple of year ago one farmer in the ardee dromconrath area approached a group of lads out hare hunting.He was only goin to tell them to stay out of the land where he had sheep on ready to yain.They were north lads and they turned on him one actualy struck him with a paling post.They just about left him for dead,he needed a blood transfusion to save him.Now im not running down the north people but that was bad form,they also told him they would come back and burn his house and sheds.Its these sort of pricks that will ruin all types of hunting,and id bet any one of that lot on there own if fi

its legal. the coarsing clubs have their reserves n tag their hares so you just dont want to upset them is all im nearly sure its illegal to hunt hares without muzzles..? that sounds right actualy? where would you find out for sure? it is illeagal to hunt hares in the rep of eire 3 yrs ago the rangers were out in force but im sure they have been doing it before this but this is when a farmer told me they were talking to him,going around farmers doors teling them if they see [NO TEXT TALK] coarsing to contact them and still are they have been searching vehicles looking hares i

iv a jack russell here that would take out a hare on the lamp rabbits are harder to deck,its a sin to kill a hare on the lamp espically here in Ireland,a hare in an average size field is like puddy with a lamp blinding hell out of it and you get people bragging about how many hares ther dog killed on the lamp but couldnt do it day time....

no was not out with bran when it happened but no him very well and the stuff you are running,9 times outa 10 its not the farmers but gunclubs netting men etc even with permission or not they just dont want you being there and it has been known for them to harass farmers not to let the likes of us back{none locals}....

just want to know if anyone who hunt southeren Ireland have had any problems with farmers,gunmen,coursing men(greyhounds)or wildlife rangers.... its just in the past week what i no of ther has been a few incounters,we were hunting land sunday last on full permission and when we got back to the car it had its windscreen shot out,an other squad i know were attacked by a fella with a lump hammer,and an other squad had a dog working a hare the farmer got hold of it phoned the gardai they came and took the dog,then i was informed tonight ther that ther are three gun clubs in meath are going to

from the 31/3/03 there was a ban on hunting hares in the north of Ireland inculding netting hares a total protection on them,but no prottection on the european brown just the native irish hare,but in the south of Ireland the wildlife rangers are on the prowl looking for illeagal coarsing cause you need a game permit and writen permission from the farmer stating why he wants you to hunt hares on his land,the coarsing clubs were lucky to get there permits this year to net the hares and when they did they got them late....
