Hawke panorama 60 quid and postage. I'm not too bothered for selling it so if you decide you didn't want it I would be happy to refund your money on return of scope.

Thanks for the offer mate but it's more than I wanted to pay at the moment, cheers anyway buddy

I know Jimmy's sights are spot on on the Merlyn so that will put my mind at rest

Process of elimination mate..if jimmy is kind enough to do that.. it gets the glass ruled out ?

  2. The number one pellet in my .177 100kt. (aa express) 5 pence sized groups at 55yards..couldn't get that at 40-45yards with with bis mags, fields, and the usuals (although heavies are good up to 45. Got to use what the barrel likes I suppose and in steggys case it's the express.. Deffo a big fan of these. Got no qualms with them as a hunting pellet.

  4. Out again yesterday morning for a few hour's. Siren set for 5.30 bells, up and down the perm for 7 bells.. (got to be there early to beat the shotty lads to it). Managed a woody and a Joe crow before they turned up. Startled the farm moggy and a bird watcher that walked past within feet of me (ghillie suit and face veil on). Don't know which one jumped the highest when I shouted "MORNING" Hahaha! Every morning out is unique and memorable....few phone pics anyway lads.

    Happy hunting..

  5. Look at some stats. The best shooters in the country often take 30 shots every Sunday morning. Their targets are anything from 8-45 yards. Their longest shots will be kill-zones from between 30mm & 40mm somewhat larger than the 1" kill that we look for when hunting. They average around 57 so that's three misses. They practice a lot, are very consistent with some of the best equipment out there. They are supremely confident and they have to take the shot. The one thing they do not have to think about is movement of the target and that for me is the key reason for keeping it to a maximum of 40 yards. No matter how good/confident you think you are you have absolutely no control over what the quarry is about to do.

These stats.. without sounding arsey..the 3 misses they average, is it always the 40+ yarder's?
