Lots of ebikes have a throttle option and most can be tweaked to up the top speed. I only really use the power on hills, that increases the range by a lot.

I got an Eleglide T1, unlike most bikes it came with lights, mudguards and a decent back rack. I've added a trailer which attaches to the seat post, there's a few places I fish that I can't get close with the car but the bike gets me there.

My kayak is a Feelfree double, very stable, I pack the fishing gear or camping stuff in the front and use it in fresh water and at sea. It's great fun paddling along the coast and finding little places to stop overnight.

Good kayaks Tim, if yours has the wheel in the keel, just be a little careful as they can break at the axle. I used to get kayaks sent to me for testing and review writing and in fact I had the Moken 10, 12 and 14 fishing kayaks from them so I can say the Moken 12 / 12.5 was my favourite.  I set up the UK team for Jackson Kayaks from USA which again were brilliant kayaks and the 14' Cuda I kept, I fitted with a Torqeedo 1hp electric motor which was fantastic. If you are going to fit anchor trolley or fish finder and not to sure about fitting, just let me know and I will talk you through it Tim.

I do like the look of your bike Tim, I am fancying the smaller wheel, folding type which seem to do well off road but a stretch for my pension at this time (or any bloody time if I am being honest.)

  2. Welcome on board Jerry.

Another Impact lookalike which I don't think is brought into the UK but it sounds like it does a great job for you. Starlings are protected in the UK although I dont know why as they are a bloody pest and I would love to have them back on the list but that will not happen. It will be interesting to see what you get up to on that side of the pond so feel free to join in.

The price in the States is so much better than over here as I have established on a number of guns and fishing gear, a good friend of mine goes over most years to shoot clays in a big competition and is amazed at the price differences, he does usually buy shooting related items or spares for his guns to save shed loads of money. I wonder how much your LCS would cost here.

Not too bad thanks mate, getting older, more aches and pains but retired now so more time on my hands. Less shooting since rabbits are almost non existent round here. Just a few shots to keep the magpies away from my nesting birds and check zero.

Took up kayaking and got an ebike, Tentbox on the car so plenty of mini breaks. Doing some stealthy wildcamps with the ebike and a 2 man tent, great fun.

I used to do a lot of kayak fishing both at sea and freshwater which I loved, still have one small surf kayak but as I get further into old fartdom, I don't use it anymore in fact I need to see about selling it.  I also really fancy an e-bike, the naughty ones that will run without pedaling, fully folding with chunky tires so I could use it on the farms or reaching some of my distant fishing marks along the shoreline.

We are on the same page Jimmy, if the gun is like yours or the Impact from the factory, that is one thing but I am talking about people buying shit to make their guns look more like a military weapon and that I think is crazy in my mind.

  5. Just thinking Jimmy, could the 'O' ring on the outside of the mag need changing as I seem to remember some years ago hearing that these rings need to be changed every now and then, they would be a cheap thing to change and it may help. It should give the size in the manual or just phone Hull Cartridge to get one or two.  Let me know the size Jimmy and I will have a look in my selection box to see if any will fit, if so I post you one or two to try mate.

  6. Just checked the FX website and the .25 is only available in fac which is good BUT limited number of shots per fill and no regulator is perhaps a step too far from what I want so I will now start to look for a s/h Crown / Maverick / Wildcat BT / Impact.  Mine and my pal's Mk1 Impacts are still in the rfd but as parts are not as easy to get as I found out when a few parts needed replacing a couple of years ago, then add the fact that I would need to update the barrel as they are the original smooth twist barrels on these guns so not suited to slug use otherwise I may have considered buying my pal's old gun as it was a Mk1 / 2 crossover and newer than mine.......................... feck knows, I go round in circles in my head with this, I need a lotto win.

  7. I had a Honda CRV 4x4 series 2, never spent any money on it, totally reliable, had it for over 4 years doing 160,000 miles, my lasy company car but it was good off road as well.  Now have a BMW X3  4x4, very nice but to change the timing chain I had to hire a gantry to lift out the engine, big job but my son in law did it for me as the best quote was £2400, it actually cost me around £500 in all...................love it though.

  8. As above but if you really want to show you are taking it seriously, join a local clay pigeon club or go for a few lessons which will help you anyway and at the same time give you the chance to try a few guns before you buy. There is little doubt that it is becoming more difficult to get a license even though you have the right to own a shotgun providing you have no criminal record or bad driving history as that has recently been quoted as a reason not to give a license.

Look online for the 'Shooting Clubs Directory' which will give you all the clubs / shooting grounds around the country so you can pick one or two and visit or phone to start the ball rolling.

  9. The new FX DRS has hit the shops, my buddy has bought a .177, I was under the impression that this model would only be available in sub 12 but on one of the facebook groups, a couple of guys said they have ordered DRS fac version. If this is correct and not some pillock at the Sportsman Gun Centre saying they can get an fac version, then at about £750, it will be half the cost of any other models in the FX stable.

Has anyone heard if fac versions are coming out.

  10. We are talking Daystate group here so it is unlikely they will know or be bothered to get the information for you. You could email Tony Belas at Daystate / MTC and if he can work out how to turn the computer on he could help if after switching on the computer, he remebers why you emailed in the first place..............🤣

  11. When I read these posts on nice springers, I keep thinking about another for range shooting as they are just too heavy for this 72 year old to carry around but it does make me miss my TX200. Typical really, plenty of time but not money................................. bugger.

  12. I had double cataract surgery Simon but not what you had by the sound of it and I do agree the difference I felt with the new lenses in was amazing, being able to see sharp cross hairs was a blessing.

I remember the session you, Jimmy, Ethan and myself had in your garden was good fun but also showed me how bloody rubbish I was with that new TX200 I bought having watch you drop 4 pellets on top of eachother.  I must say however after 'Charlie Caller' tuned it for me, even I was able to produce tight clover leaf groups and I do regret selling it.

It would be good to get together again, Jimmy and myself have spoken about that recently and one day we may be able to sort something out.  In the meantime Simon, stay in touch on here as we do need to get the activity back on here again.

    Hello Mitch old chum.

It's been a while since I was last here. See they haven't thrown you off this forum for your unvarnished and honest airgun reviews  then!

I think a lot of us have had more than our share of woes and upheavals and things do change for lots of us. Mark here is going through his health worries, I've had failing eyesight and couldn't see a bloody thing properly to keep shooting. It's  the same with lots of us older chaps who aren't getting younger.

Maybe some of the lads of yesterday have sold their guns and taken up something else?

And there are one or two no longer with us in life, I know.

But I'm sure there's a bit of that spirit of banter to be found in the lads here be they new guys or old sweats.

Bet you still love Daystates  and hold undying admiration for Tony Belas!

Great to see you here old mate. And we never met!

    Best regards Mitch.

    Simon.

I see you have not lost your sense of humour Simon......................................God bless Tony Belas

  14. Following on from that Simon, if we take the FX Impact which I had and loved, you can buy 'extras' to make it look more like a military gun from companies like Saber and others. This to my mind is like putting go faster stickers on a car, well at 17 or 18 years old is perhaps something we go through but for god's sake, grown men spending hard earned cash on feckin rubbish to make their gun look more tactical is insane and rather immature to say the least.  Sorry if this offends but I agree tactical air guns is NOT the way forward in my eyes.

I think this is a rebadged El Gamo. Does anyone know of a scope that will fit on to it? It is 11mm but the standard mount does not grip the grooves on the top of the piston. Alternatively does anyone know where I can get front and rear sights?

Have a look at ANTS SUPPLIES as they have different rails to fit over various gun rails along with different scope fittings. A good bloke and very helpful.

  16. I am not familiar with Aguila at all but I suggest contacting Forest Lodge Guns, in Wragby, nr Market Rasen, Lincs and speek to the owner Matt as they specialize in firearms rather than shotguns and air rifles although they do sell them of course.  Matt really knows his stuff when it comes to firearms and they have a good selection of rimfire and centre fire rounds.

Forest Lodge Guns has been a trusted gun shop in Wragby since 1987. Browse and purchase online or in store. Call now to reserve an item before you visit.

What is the current price of Hornady 30g V-Max, I see it's around $23.99 Stateside?!

    Cheers

To be honest I dont know as I didn't pay for them, I was in credit at the rfd so took little notice. I should have said that the mainstay of the orders now in the UK of Hornady rimfire are hmr but wmr are in at both my normal rfd shops.
