Rabbit Snaring G.S.Waters

Are there any restrictions on snaring in the UK. I have also seen a snare which you place on a log that is resting on a tree and an angle, which is meant to catch squirrels, but is there anyway of stopping red squirrels from getting caught in the snare ?

In areas where there's a chance of red squirrels being about you use catch alive traps so you could release them and humanly dispatch the greys its common sense really
