Meece 1,957
Mine broke in exactly the same place on my 500. I made a new one out of a piece of steel key. You might get one from Midwest or Brownells. https://www.brownells.co.uk/epages/UK.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=4037832&ViewAction=ViewFaceted&FacetValue_CategoryID=13777&CurrencyID=GBP Edited March 13, 2018 by Meece 1 Quote Link to post

Meece 1,957
I wouldn't pay that amount for a plastic/nylon safety catch because there is hardly any meat on either side of the screw hole. That's a why mine broke and why I made one. 1 Quote Link to post
ChrisJones 7,973
Brownells in the US does an aluminium one for $17.99. That's just under £13 in the current exchange, and it's a genuine Mossberg part. I don't know if they'd ship though. 1 Quote Link to post
Meece 1,957
The trouble with getting anything gun related from the states is one of whether they will or are allowed to ship and the shipping cost along with import tax's. If it is flagged up you will recieve a bill for handling. They will charge something like a tenner to write you a leter informing you that you owe the import tax. This could mean that if they will send the item it could cost between 20 ... 30 to get it in your hand. Thats why I made one. It dont take long. 1 Quote Link to post

If its going to be that much it will cost as much as i paid for the gun ? will probably try making one ? any pics of the one you made ? Quote Link to post
Meece 1,957
I can do that but all you have to do is copy the plastic/ nylon one that is one there now. I think that I either used a bit of key steel or just a piece cut off of flat strip. It depends on what you have available, the tools and skill that you have. It wasn't difficult for me because I work in that type of thing. Quote Link to post
