Called into the farm last night to let the farmer know that I had shot 2 foxes for him as he had asked me to sort them as they have had 12 of his hens .

 

He was happy with this and asked "Have you had any of those deer yet"

 

I replied that I had only seen does but was going now to see what I could find :D

 

I stalked into a doe to a distance of about 70 yds in a field of oats and watched her feeding for about 20 mins before carrying on .

 

After stalking round the rest of the farm I finally arrived at a rough patch of ground and spotted a roebuck under a hawthorn bush at about 80 yards looking straight at me, I slowly raised my rifle onto my sticks and head shot him as the grass was up to its neck and I could only see its head :good:

Now Now Colin, you know it is frowned upon in the deer world to head shoot them :icon_eek:

 

I prefer the neck shot if available , but when you shoot most deer at 1000 yards its not that easy :laugh::laugh::laugh:

nice1 foxhunter :good: could do with a joint of venison if there's any going spare ;)

 

 

Already sold mate , but if you were here you could haved had some!!
