harry waudby. 10
Now that it's the easter holidays i've been bullied into doing abit of revising for my GCSEs. So i thought that instead of missing out on a day of shooting, i could mix-match. I layed out some seeds & bread with two decoys to see if i could intise any pigeons. So during my revision i kept one eye out for the decoys, after nearly ten minutes a woodie had landed in one of the near by trees. and after nearly another ten minutes it hopped down onto the grass. so that was the first in the bag. then tehre was a cold patch where there was nothing for almost an hour when a magpie squaked onto the fence where he marched up and down the fence line for some time weighing up the situation, where he finally stood still long enough to take a shot. i left the fallen magpie on the grass face down in the hope that it would work as a decoy for it's partner. a little time after that it worked and it's partner took no hesitation to dive bomb straight onto the grass where i lined up it's neck straight away. At this point i'd gave up revising Vietnam, so i layed down on the grass in the far corner under the table with the bipod. after what seemed like hours a pigeon finally landed, but i was too hastey to take the shot which i got my punishment for as i witnesed the pellet sail past its head through the scope. so at the end of a day i think the revision was made abit more fun Quote Link to post

Malt 379
Nice one mate! As much as I admire the magpie for it's intelligence & cunning, it always make me smile to see a dead one, nest robbing Nice mixed bag too. Quote Link to post
harry waudby. 10
nice shooting, where was the shot placement? All head shots exept one magpie that was a neck shot but it was still a clean kill. & thanks everyone i thought the rules for garden shooting was something like aslong as the pellet does'nt leave your garden or something like that  Quote Link to post
