andyfr1968 772
For the price, there's nothing wrong with them. Good value. Have a look at JSR scopes as well. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
are they better than an SMK 4x40 scope? Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Probably. You need to remember that with most of the cheaper scopes that have someones company name (AGS, SMK, EB, Viking, whatever) are all made in China in pretty much the same factories. Don't be tempted by some of the 'bargins' from ebay though. So long as you stick with a real retailer, you should be ok. Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
this may sound like a stupid question but is 3-9x40 a higher magnifaction than 4 x40? (i think it probably is but i just wnated to make sure!) Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
The first number(s) is the mag, the second is the front lense size in mm. So, your 4x40 has a 4 mag and a 40mm objective lense. The 3-9x40 has a zoom magnification of between 3 and 9 and again has a 40mm lense. Edited April 4, 2009 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
aaronpigeonplucker 32
so it is a higher mag? Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Er. Yes. It would be if you turn the zoom up higher than 4. Edited April 4, 2009 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post

Edgar 1
I had an AGS tactical and was not very impressed, it didnt hold zero at all. I now have a Bushnell Trophy which is very good. You can buy a Bushnell Sportsman for under 50 pounds from JS Ramsbottom which is probly better value for money. Quote Link to post
