Accuracy!?!?!?!

Hi i have a BSA supersport which i have owned for just under a year up till now it has been very accurate up to about 35 yards but recently it is only accurate up to 15 yards! what could be going wrong?!

How many pellets have you fed it?

Cleaned it lately? You didn't use a metal brush / jag did you? Barrels are soft metal and scoring the rifling deforms the pellets. Do that and you will miss at long ranges. Is damaged rifling reversable? No!

Are all the screws and fixings tight? (Rattle test)

Barrel lock ok? You wouldn't have fired the airgun with an open barrel letting it slam shut would you?

Have you tried another scope or even iron sights?

Have you adjusted the trigger too finely / coarse? Many people notice a trigger feels different after a while and without thinking relax at the moment the airgun fires.

Changed brand of pellets? Some just don't fly well in BSA's

Have you damaged the muzzle crown? Any damage here and the pellet will wobble on exit. The further the range, the bigger the miss! Close range no problem, long range useless!

Is a silencer fitted? Disassemble it and look for any shaved lead sticking to the insides. Shavings mean that your pellet is being deformed before it leaves the barrel. Result, wobble as in damage to the muzzle crown.

Have you fitted a bipod recently? Springers don't like "being held" by bipods".

Now the metaphysical!

You're not flinching are you?

Not anticipating the "bang"?

Not relaxing instantly the gun goes off?

You're not taking your eye off the target to watch the pellet hit are you?

Drunk too much beer or got some waccy baccy?

Enough already!!!!!!

Hope one of these helps

I have tightened the scope mounts but the real glitch i think was what i was shooting off i changed the spot i zeroed off and i thik it was the way i was holding the rifle. if its not i will deffinatly find one of the above as the problem i dont thik you have missed anything!! cheers!
